Chapter 8

I stepped out of the cab. I knocked few times. His mom opened the door. She was a very sweet person and knew me well

'Rochelle!! How good to see you!! 'She said smiling.
'Same here, aunt. Can I see him? Is he home? '
'Yes, but you know his condition. He is always locked up in his room, drunk,' she said upsetly.
'I know. That is why I'm here. You won't be upset from now. I'll make him non - alcoholic. I promise!' I said and smiled.
'Thanks Rochelle. I trust you. He's upstair, '

Well, I was in Paul's house. I had decided to convince everyone myself. So I started with Paul. It was very important to distance him from alcohol now or it will be very late.

I went upstair and knocked on the door. No response came. So I shouted.
'Paul!! I'm Rosh. Please open the door,'

'It's open. Come in, ' he shouted back. I could sense he was drunk.

I was a little scared. I knew Paul would never harm me. But still, he was drunk!! I slowly opened the door and went inside.

I was shocked to see him in this state. He was lying on the foot of the bed, eyes drooping. His hairs were long and he had not shaved from months. He tried to get up. He came to me, shaking.

'Rosh!!.... I missed you!! 'He said before hugging me. He smelled of alcohol.
'So did I!!' I made him sit down.
'How are you? 'He asked.
'Fine. Tell me about you. You fine? '
He nodded.
'But I don't think you're fine. Why're you so addicted to alcohol? You were never like this!! 'I felt him stiffen.
'It's...... It's nothing, ' he said, avoiding my gaze.
'Kat has told me everything!! '

Color derived from his face. 'She has told me everything about the fight. When did you become like this, and why?! 'I shouted, sobbing.

'You promised that you will always be like that and will never let our group break!! Why did you do that?! You just can't break the promise, damn it!! 'I cried.

'Rosh, listen. I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have done that. I'm an idiot. But what Alisha did was also not right, ' he said painfully.

'So you will start drinking and become alcoholic!! Wow!! What a great thing to do!! I know Alisha has a mistake here but what you did is also not right!! I'll talk to Alisha about it,  but first promise me you won't drink again. You will never touch that thing again, ' I said, disappointed.

'Won't. I promise. Now forgive me, '
'And why did you pick a fight with Blake?! 'I asked coldly.
'Because I.... I was.. '
'Jealous!! 'I completed the sentence for him.
'Disgusting! If a friend's doing well, if he's a professor, then you will feel jealous of him? Instead of feeling happy for his success?! 'I shouted. 'Then you would feel jealous for me also, for Kat and everyone else? 'I asked angrily.
'No, Rosh. I'm sorry. I should have understood, ' he said , ashamed.
'Okay, but don't touch alcohol again now. I'm going to talk to Alisha. Get yourself presentable. You're looking awful, ' I said looking at his dishevelled state.
'Yeah, 'he said and smiled. I left.
