I have soared throughout the night,
Flying across oceans to new lands,
Building nest upon nest,
Battling all the thoughts,
That kept me from rest.

This war has exhausted me fully,
I can't find what it is I seek,
Because I don't know what it is,
But then there was a day,
Where I caught just a glimpse.

A glimpse that called me home,
To the mountains of my youth,
That familiar tree in the yard,
And by seeing all of this,
The emotions hit me hard.

This is where you had stayed,
Waiting for me up in your tree,
For me to figure it out,
That you would wait for me,
Of that, I shouldn't doubt.
