The best people possess a feeling for beauty, the courage to take risks, the discipline to tell the truth, the capacity for sacrifice.

Ironically, their virtues make them vulnerable: they are often wounded, sometimes destroyed.

- Ernest Hemingway

It had been dark and cloudy all week and today the sun had finally decided to grace the earthlings with its appearance. It seemed to give a new hope to everyone. The dewdrops on the flowers and trees glazed in the bright light with the hue of the seven colours of light. A happy vibe encompassed the air.

But this happiness did not seem to be able to penetrate the great walls of the Usman mansion in order to reach the one would really do well with some bright happiness. Looking at the Usman mansion, one would witness an elegant combination of modern as well as medieval architecture. It was marble white with intricately designed pillars. It was four storied with large windows and the front of the terrace had a crown like lining. A vast garden lined with fir trees at the front surrounded it. Flowers of all kinds swayed gently with the wind. If you would look up closer towards the third window from right at the back of the mansion, you would clash with two hazel oceans with golden specks emerging from the central black depth.

Zara leaned against the clear window of her room and opened it halfway taking in the fragrant smell that would waft by every time with the breeze, which would make her tuck her shiny brown locks behind her ears every now and then. Her yellow summer dress glazed with the same brightness as the sun. Yet a pale look was cast on her face as she leaned forward to see decor being set up in the garden below.

Red capped tents formed a large semicircle around the highly adorned red and golden themed stage. There was a large loveseat at the centre of the stage and two smaller ones on its either sides. Dark red roses crept all the way up the side pillars of the stage. The tents housed round tables draped with pale golden tablecloth which touched the ground surrounded by rounded chairs draped with pale red cloth, again till the bottom and a golden sash around the back rest.

It looked really pretty similar to pictures one sees on printerest or instagram. She'd always wanted something like this for her wedding and now that she had it she was disappointed that she did not feel so happy about it. Because she knew nothing about the guy whom she was going to marry except that his name was Aahil Ibrahim and he was her dads new partner in business.

She had just come from her graduation ceremony which neither her dad or his wife had cared to attend. Needless to say she couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy when she saw how all her classmates' parents had come, and how they applauded for their children and clicked pictures which would make their way to the wall of memories in beautiful frames. She wished she too could have a loving family.

I quietly entered through the main door and tip toed past dad's office and into my room. I closed the door and after removing my black graduation gown and cap, lied on the bed. My phone is started buzzing with notification. I unlocked it and went through the pictures of the day which all were forwarding on whatsapp and instagram.

I came across a picture of Afifa and me. I smiled and download the picture. Afifa is my best friend, more like my family, yea I considered her my sister. She is the only one who actually cared about me. I met her in grade one. We were catching the trunks of the trees and swinging around during lunch break and we started talking and together plucked the lemons off the tree and ate them while making funny faces due to the sourness. And thus, started our friendship. I added this lemon emoji along with her name in my contacts and on our birthdays we'd give each other a lemon along with the other gifts! We both loved sour stuff! Oh and did I mention, we have the same birthdays! We were so surprised when we found out and me being silly me told her that she copied me! But in the end we came to the conclusion that we're twins.
