D e s p i t e k n o w i n g they won't be here for long, they choose to live their brightest lives.
~Sunflowers - Rupi Kaur
It had been a week since the whole park incident. Zara had adjusted well into the new settings.
Although it wasn't some dream land but one thing she was sure of was that it was definitely one thousand percent better than back at the mansion with her father. She was much more happier than she'd ever been back there.
She happily skipped down the stairs on this bright Sunday morning. She was extremely delighted as it was the first day of spring.
Zara loved spring, loved all the flowers swaying with the light earthly scented breeze, loved the sun that shone bright after hiding behind the clouds for months. Spring to her was literally the light at the end of a dark tunnel. Not that she hated winters and the cozy feeling of staying in the blankets but spring was so happy, so bright, so filled with love.
She went about parting all the curtains and welcoming the beautiful sunshine in.
There we go! It's so pretty and bright in here! Let me grab some breakiie now. I should have something spring themed, probably something fruity. Well I'll make some milkshake.
Making breakfast is my favourite. Cooking relaxes me so much. Maybe I should start a YouTube channel and name it relaxing cooking! Or nope that seems like ASMR. But cooking is my ASMR! Zara's kitchen would be fun hehe. Welcome to Zara's kitchen! Sounds fun! Well let's get started with the milkshake then. I really like this recipie where I use some frozen mixed berries and a banana. And then I add in almond milk and some peanut butter. And switch on the mixture (obviously😂). And yay my smoothie is ready! I'll top it with some cut strawberries and granola.
Zara was having a pleasant morning walk in the backyard. It was literally glowing green with all the trees and colourful flowers in the bushes.
"Assalamalaikum Kasima aunty! Hey Zoya! How are you cutie?! " Zara happily greeted the mother daughter duo.
Kasima cooked and did a few chorus around the house. Although now Zara had convinced and also seriously restricted her for coming to make breakfast and dinner.
She said she could handle that and Kasima could help a little for lunch because for some unknown reason she was super lazy during the afternoon😆.
Zoya was her lovely daughter. Both of them were very cheerful and she loved hanging out with them. They lived in the nearby building were Aahil had bought a few apartments for the workers.
Zoya was a very good 5 year old. She would hang out with Zara and they would draw, paint, dance and have fun. Zara loved teaching her to play the guitar. She also had fun teaching and playing word games with her in Arabic and Spanish."Walaikumasslam Zara beti. We are fine." Kasima replied smiling.
"Although why are you both here today? You have to go to Zoya's school function so I told you take the day off right?"
"Yes dear, but Zoya left her paints here yesterday and this little stubborn muffin won't be in peace because she wants to paint right now." Kasima said annoyed yet amused at her daughter's stubbornness.
"That's no problem Zoyie come on in I'll go get your colours right now. Where'd you leave them?" Zara asked.
"I think they are in Aahil bhaiya's room. He helped me paint the sunset yesterday!" She said happily.
"Okay I'll go get it!" Zara replied. She had found that his room was just the one next to hers.
Although they weren't on very good terms with each other, she admired how nice and kind he was to Kasima aunty. She couldn't afford to send Zoya to a good school, so helped her with that and he also played with her!
She entered the room. His was larger than hers. Mostly black themed. Everything was sleek and elegant. It was kind of an exciting feeling entering his room for the first time. She felt that a person's room could tell a lot about them. She felt kinda evil entering his room without his permission😆.
But it okay right?! I'm going to go get Zoyie's paints for her and I'll be out in a sec😄.
She found the colourful paint bottles almost immediately as of course they stood out in the black theme. She went to pick them up from the desk.
The wall by the desk had many pictures of his family. There was a picture of him from maybe when he was five, cutely smiling at his mother while his father held him. Her hand reached out as she carresed the picture. Something about the picture attracted her. It was Aahil's mother.
Why does his mother look so familiar to me? I feel as if I know her or probably met her for sure. But how would I have ever met her? But I wish I could. She looks so kind and nice.
Wait, Aahil looks just like her! Except for his eyes, they are like his father's, blue. His mother's are hazel brown, kind of similar to mine. Well maybe I feel her familiar cause bottom line, Aahil is her male version. There were also pictures of Aahil with another boy and maybe his family.
She had asked him about his parents one morning when she saw him at breakfast as she was puzzled why she hadn't met them yet. She felt really guilty for asking him that.
She of course should have kept quite and asked Kasima aunty. He had become kind of really angry at her and told her that they were no more and went away. She hadn't seen him since then which was three days ago.
She was almost gonna go but the paints were kept on a file which she knew she shouldn't look at but couldn't help because on the cover it said Mansur Usman.
She flipped through the contents of the blue file. It looked like a background check of him and some business like details. Maybe it was just about their partnership. She kept it there went to give Zoya her paints.
After Zoya and her mom left she was busy with applying for jobs with different companies. She had graduated with an MBA.
Later in the evening Zoya had come to get her makeup done by her dear Zara aapi.
She was dressing as a honeybee so Zara did her a kind of yellow themed make up."All right Zoya lets get you in your costume!" She said excitedly.
Zoya looked really cute in the bee outfit.
"I can even prick people with this." She said pointing at the sting needle at the back which actually wasn't sharp or anything.
"Why would you prick people Zoya? That's mean!" Zara chided.
"I'll only prick Aisha, she stole my MnM's!" Honeybees don't prick good people.
"But Zoyie bear if you prick others you won't be good anymore. And maybe a honeybee will prick you. And if you forgive Aisha you will get honey toffee!"
"I don't want to be pricked! Zoya is a good girl! Okay I will forgive Aisha."
"Yes my Zoyie is the the best girl! Its always better to forgive and Allah will be very pleased with you!" Zara said picking her up and while she squealed and they went downstairs.
"Really?! Allah will be happy if I forgive? Thank you telling me aapi! I won't fight with anybody now!""You're welcome cutie! Let's go now or we'll be late!"
