Emily's POV
I was with Jughead in bed thinking about what he just said when he turned to me
" What? What is it?" He asked me
" Nothing." I said and his phone started ringing. He went in the next room and answered it. " No. It's too crazy. There's no way." I said to myself. My phone dinged and I looked to see Veronica had texted me wanting me to meet her, Betty, and my brother at the school asap. I started getting ready to leave and Jughead walked back in
" Uh, I have to go" He said
" It's Fine, so do I" I said rushing to get ready
" Is everything alright?" He asked me worried
" Yeah, I just have to meet up with Veronica. You know how she is, can't say no" i said with a smile
" Okay. I'll see you later?" He asked hopefully
" Of course" I said before leaving.

I was walking through the school with Betty, Veronica, and Kevin.
" You guys, I'm worried about my dad. The town is turning on him." My brother said
" Yeah, I'm worried too. He's trying his best under these crazy circumstances, but this Black Hood stuff is really getting to him." I said and we stopped walking in front of a study room
" How is he dealing with it?" Veronica asked
" Yeah, what's he been doing?" Betty asked right after
" He's not sleeping. He's not eating. I hear him rummaging around the house at odd hours, talking to himself, just heading out in the middle of the night." Kevin said
" Where do you think he's going?" Betty asked at the same time Veronica asked " Where's he going?"
" I don't know. But whatever it is, it's It's like he's a different person." He said before walking off to his class. The three of us went into the study room and sat down at the table
" Poor Kevin. He's like a character in a lost Tennessee Williams play." Veronica said
" Veronica, I have a theory about Sheriff Keller." I said
" Oh, me, too." Betty said
" It's obvious." Veronica said
" He's the Black Hood." Betty and I said at the same time Veronica said " He's having an affair.
" What? Is that a joke?" Veronica asked us
" I wish it were." I said
" Whatever crazy web that you're spinning, E, let me break it down for you. Your mom's away, he's failing at his job, he's looking for comfort, sneaking around All signs point to cheating." She said
" Well, I don't know, maybe he's having an affair, and he's the Black Hood." Betty said
" You've known Emily's dad how many years?" Veronica asked her
" Okay, think about it, The Black Hood killed Mr. Phillips in a cell at the Sheriff's Station.
How do you explain that?" I said
" Emily, Betty, Kevin needs our friendship right now, not your groundless suspicions. Don't worry, my intuition's telling me that he's having an affair." Veronica said getting up "But stay tuned while I prove it." She said before walking out.

Betty and I went to the police station to see my dad.
" Thank you for sitting down with us, dad. Like I said, We're writing a follow-up about Mr.
Phillips." I said to him as we sat across from him at his desk
" Well, I'm happy to oblige, Em." He said
" How did the Black Hood get to the Sugarman, Sheriff? Right here in the station?" Betty asked
" Forced entry. I was out on patrol and the overnight deputy, he fell asleep." My dad said
" But breaking into the station, that seems..." I started but he cut me off
" Incredibly ballsy? Have a look at this. The Black Hood pried the door open from the outside." He said handing us pictures " An then he just...Well, come on, I'll show you." He said and we got up and followed him out
" I'll take you down to the holding cells, where he shot Phillips. We've gathered shoeprints, video surveillance and everything else we could to catch this monster. But what enrages me is that it happened in my department, under my watch." He said once we got there. After that I went back to my house. I walked in to see Veronica walking down the stairs.
" Veronica? What are you doing here?" I asked her
" I am having a sleepover with Kevin" she said
" You're having a sleepover with Kevin? Without me and Betty? In the middle of an investigation?" I asked shocked
" This isn't an investigation, okay? This is me helping a friend deal with his father's infidelities." She said
" so you're there snooping to prove that My dad is having an affair?" I asked
" Why else would I leave the comforts of the Pembrooke?" She asked
" Can you please add helping me look for evidence that suggests He's the Black Hood to your to-do list?" I asked and she nodded
" I'd start in the home office." I said
" It's locked. And, no, I don't have any bobby pins." She said
" Okay, lets check the basement." I said
" Yeah, I'm sure that's where he keeps all his spare hoods" Veronica said " Why do you think that anyway? I mean, he's your father" she asked
" Yet, I don't find it that hard to believe" I said with a sigh. " I mean, think about it. He is sneaking around and doesn't talk to me anymore, I cant remember that last time he called my mom which he used to do all the time, and he knows all the stuff the Black hood has known about me so far." I said
" Yeah, but that doesn't mean it's him Emmy. I know your going through a rough time right know but accusing your dad of being the black hood seems a little far fetched doesn't it?" She asked and I stayed silent. " Look" She said putting her hand on my shoulder " I am here if you ever need to talk to anyone about anything. Now, let's go have a look in the basement shall we?" She asked with a smile which I gladly returned. She opened up the basement door and looked down the stairs.
" No way. I am not going down there." She said
" Please. I don't like going alone and I Just want to check to see if something it there" I said
" Okay, fine." She said. We started walking down the stairs to hear a loud panting. Veronica and I looked at each other confused and her somehow not. We reached the bottom of the stairs to see my dad working out
" Oh, Veronica. Emmy. What can I do for you?" He asked once he noticed us
" I was just Looking for juice or diet soda or something." Veronica said
" The fridge in the kitchen is empty" I said
" Well, there's some here, I think." He said opening the fridge and handing her and I both a drink
" There you are" He said
" Thanks." I said and started to head up the stairs but soon saw Veronica wasn't following me
" I didn't know you worked out so much, Mr.
Keller. I mean, Archie Andrews, watch your back." She said.
Oh my god. Is she seriously flirting with my dad? I thought to myself with disgust
" I don't do it for vanity. I do it for discipline, and to push my limits." He said
" And I'm sure it comes in handy on the job." Veronica said " Kevin mentioned things have been stressful lately, with the Black Hood and everything. It must get super hard. With all the pressure, without Mrs. Keller. Where is she stationed, again?" She asked
" Bahrain." I answered trying to get the point across that we should just go
" Uh, some Naval Base there." My father continued
" That can't be easy. How do you Cope?" Veronica asked
" Veronica?" I heard my brother ask from behind me
Oh thank god I thought to myself
" What are you doing down here?" Kevin asked
" Hey, pal." My dad said to him

" I saw your dad sneaking out in the middle of the night, and he came home, like, at 4:00 a.
m." Veronica said to me
" Look. A Jingle-Jangle addict's body was found by the tracks this morning." Betty said to us pointing to it on the paper
" It says here this guy was hit and killed by a train." I said
" Yeah, because he was pushed in front of it by Your dad." Betty said
" Or he stumbled into its path." I said
" What happens to you being on my side with this?" Betty asked me
" I really thought about it Betty and I don't think it's him" I said
" No, think about all the locked doors in his house Why?" Betty said
" Why? Because he's a private person." I said
" Look, Betty, let's not confuse wanting a solution to this mystery with actually having one, okay? This is Kevin and Emily's father we're talking about." Veronica said

" I know you think I'm crazy, E, but you yourself, saw him sneaking out. He's hiding something." Betty said to me
" Okay, B. I'm in, for Kevin's sake. And also to keep you in check. But that doesn't mean I forgive you for breaking into my house and going through my dads stuff." I said
"Look." Betty said pointing to my dad getting into his car " Where-oh-where do you think you're going, Sheriff?" Betty asked. We followed him to a creepy motel on the edge of Riverdale
" There he is." Betty said
" What is he doing?" I asked as he got a bag out of the back of his truck and walked towards one of the rooms
" That must be his kill kit." Betty said taking a picture
" His what now?" I asked
" He's about to do something terrible. His next victim could be in that room right now." Betty said
" Should we call the cops?" Veronica asked
" Betty?"I asked but saw she left the car
" Betty! What the hell are you doing?" Veronica asked as we reached her
" Shh" She shushed is and we all watched as Mayor McCoy walked out of the hotel room and started kissing my dad
" oh my god" I said in shock

" I just can't believe this." I said as we sat in a booth at Pop's
" I'm in shock." Betty said
" Me, too. My woman's intuition told me Sheriff Keller was having an affair, but with Mayor McCoy?" Veronica said
" Oh, God. Riverdale's list of sinners keeps expanding." I said
" Hey, look, it's the boys. Shall we ask them to join?" Veronica asked pointing them out " On second thought, it looks like they're having an intense broment." She said as they sat down in their booth
" Guys, how am I gonna tell Kevin about this?"
I asked
" I don't think we do. I think this is one of those secrets we keep. For Kevin's sake. Let him keep thinking his dad's a good guy." Veronica said
" There, there. Drink your tea, Josie." I heard Cheryl say a couple booths down. Jughead then stood up and left sending me a quick smile on the way which I gladly returned. The phone started ringing and Pop answered it. A moment later he walked out into the aisle.
" That was him on the phone. The Black Hood." He said getting our attention and causing us all to stand up " He says that we've failed his test. That we're all sinners. That the reckoning is upon us." He said
