What is music?
What is its purpose?
Why do we listen to it?

Music for some people is just a filler for the silence that rages on.

For other people it's a way to shut out the never ending voices in your brain.

For some it's entertainment and a way to pass time.

For others it has meaning, it speaks to them on a wave length that just simply doesn't resonate with others.

Music is an escape, for a lot of people music is a coping mechanism and a safe space as it were.

So if you were to attack someone's taste in music, it would be like attacking them and their sad space.

Music throughout history has brought people together so it's only fitting that it stops the raging battle in your mind.

The lyrics can be like daggers or like plasters. A verse can heal a wound on the mind or tear open a new one.

Songs can heal or they can hurt, using music as an assault on others is vile and a misuse of such a powerful weapon.

Music is a weapon to top all weapons, it's got the power to bring a war to an end, it can make powerful people see sense.

But then it can also cause those wars, give people the wrong idea, create mistrust and set a bad example.

So I ask you again
What is music?
What is it's purpose?
Why do we listen to it ?
