CHAPTER 13

Sandra sat as her parents argued. Her mind buzzed with the newfound information. "How could you have kept my daughter a secret from me all those years Sonia?! My daughter!" He slapped his own chest in anger. Sonia knew he had every right to be angry, but she had to make him understand why she made that decision. Sonia grabbed both his shaking hands in her own. Kurt's head was down shaking slowly from side to side. "Please tell me why then Sonia?" He barely whispered. "Kurt, when I found out that I was pregnant, I wanted to tell you more than anything. But, my father had already promised me to Carlos in marriage and I knew if either one of them knew the truth..." Her eyes teared up. "My father would have made me abort her....and Carlos...he would have killed Sandra and I." Kurt took a deep breath his eyes finally looking into Sonia's. He pulled her in for a hug, which she gladly accepted. Without letting go of sonia, he turned his head to his daughter. Sandra remained seated, numb. Kurt released Sonia and grabbed a seat in front of Sandra. She was so beautiful and she had his and Samuel's eyes. Sandra swallowed the huge lump in her throat. She looked pale after the news of her real father was revealed to her. Sonia sat next to Sandra taking shaking hands into her own. "Sweetheart." Sonia removed a loose strand of hair behind her daughter's ear. "Mommy, is it really true? Is this man my real father? What about daddy? And who was that girl that you kept calling Valentina and that man with her?" Kurt smiled, his arms itching to hold his daughter in his arms. "You have mine and your brother Samuel's eyes." He smiled at her. "I wish that I could have watched you grow up." Kurt's eyes were sad. "I missed so much." He whispered, but Sandra heard him. Everyone's eyes averted to the woman of the house. Her arms folded across her big bosoms with an anger clearly showing on her face. "Who the fuck are these women Kurt?! She spat out in disgust. "Have you finally decided to fuck your whores in my presence?" Kurt stood up. "Silence Ophelia!" If her eyes could throw daggers, both Sonia and Sandra would be dead. "Ophelia, please have a seat. This involves you too." Ophelia stomped over and sat next to Kurt. Ophelia glared at Sonia. Then she took a good look at Sandra and her eyes opened wide. Her breathing became heavy as her jaw clenched. Kurt took out his phone from his pocket and dialed Samuel's number. "Hello son. I need for you to bring your brother Johnny and Lily to my house right now."

Samuel entered his parents home holding Lily's hand with Johnny in toll. The trio stopped in the middle entrance of the living room when they saw who were sitting. Samuel pulled Lily with him further in. "Uh...hello?" He walked up to his mother and gave her a kiss on top of her head. "Hello Samuel." Ophelia tapped his stomach. Johnny was next to greet his mother, then sat on the armrest next to her. "What's going on?" Samuel questioned everyone in the room. Kurt started with the introduction. "Samuel, Johnny. I want to introduce you to your sister. Sandra." Both Samuel and Johnny's eyes opened wide. "What the actual fuck dad?!" Johnny deadpanned. "Hey take it easy. I just found out about her." Kurt defended himself, but Sonia interjected. "Can you all allow me to explain?" "Please do." Ophelia said through clenched teeth. Sonia looked at Ophelia apologetically. "Ophelia, I mean no disrespect. I just want you and your family to know the truth." Ophelia took a deep breath and waited for Sonia to explain. "Kurt and I use to date, but my father was against our union. He promised me in marriage to another. At the time, I was already pregnant with Sandra. I never told Kurt. I didn't get the chance. Sandra was raised to believe that Julio was her father as he was made to believe that he fathered her. It was the only way that I could keep Sandra." Sonia looked at her daughter with broken heart as she watched the tears roll down her lovely cheeks. Sonia gently wiped them away. Samuel looked at his older sister. His mind started racing. "If Sandra is your daughter and my and Johnny's sister, then that will make her.....Lily's cousin?" Johnny's eyes opened wide. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Stop right there." Johnny held his hands up. "You have been fucking our cousin?!" Samuel pursed his lips in anger. "NO You fuckin moron!" Kurt pinched the bridge of his nose. "Boys please. Sandra is my daughter, your older sister. Sonia is Sophia sister, Lily's mother which makes the girls cousin. Lily isn't related to any of us." Ophelia laughed disgustedly through her nose. "Wow Kurt. You never cease to amaze me." Kurt glared at Ophelia and she returned the gesture. "So this is the girl that has been keeping you busy?" Ophelia questioned Samuel as she pointed at Lily. "Not now mother." Samuel clenched his teeth. "Why did you call me Valentina?" Lily looked at her aunt Sonia ignoring the family banter. "Because that is your real name." Sonia's eyes fell to her hands that rested on her lap. "You mother, Sophia, gave you that name before you were born. Your full name is Valentina Maria Chacon." Lily let go a breath she didn't know she was holding. "Why didn't you raise me? Why did you abandon me?" Her tone full of hurt waiting for an explanation. Sonia walked up to Lily and kneeled before her. "I wanted to keep you. I had you for a whole week, but Julio....Julio told me that if I didn't give you up, he will kill you. You were all that I had left from my sister and I....." She started to weep. Lily slid down to her knees and took her aunt into her arms. "I'm sorry Tia Sonia." (Aunt). Lily cupped Sonia's face in her hands and kissed her wet cheek. "I grew up thinking no one ever wanted me. Like I was a mistake." Sonia shook her head. "No mija. The only mistake is my husband Julio." Lily's eyebrows furrowed. Sonia continued. "When I took you to the orphanage, I asked the sister to change your name and not to tell me to protect you further. I knew that Julio would go to the orphanage and seek you out and kill you anyway. When he went to the orphanage, the sister informed him that you had died due to complications with your heart.Of course he insisted on seeing a body. It just so happened that an infant girl had died earlier that day. She took your place and is buried at the convent cemetery as Valentina Maria Chacon." Both Samuel and Kurt were impressed with Sonia's quick thinking. Johnny heard half of what was being said. He couldn't take his eyes off of his sister. Sandra sensing her newfound brothers stare turned to him. "Must you stare? I've never met you until today and I already find you annoying." Johnny smirked then flipped her off." Sandra rolled her eyes. "Lucky you. I had to grow up with him." Samuel told Sandra. "So you're my big sister huh? Dating anyone that is being an asshole to you? Do I have to shoot someone in the face?" Samuel smirked. Sandra chuckled. "Playing the overprotective brother role already?" Samuel and Johnny shrugged together. Sandra had an afterthought and grabbed her mother's attention. "Mommy. What about Gabriel?" Sonia sighed. "He is Julio's son." "But he's a good kid mommy. Gabriel is the sweetest and most loving person. Do you...think daddy," She looked at Kurt apologetically. "You know? Daddy Julio would hurt him intentionally?" Sonia shook her head. "I don't know mija." Sandra jumped up from her seat. "Then we need to go get him mommy. He's my baby brother. We can't take that chance." Sonia nodded in agreement. Sandra took out her phone and dialed Gabriel's number. Lily's body shook and her tongue felt heavy in her mouth with a burning question. Sonia could see it on Lily's face. The night in question. "Tia Sonia....What happened the night when my parents were murdered? I need to know. I need to find out who is responsible for their deaths." Kurt and Samuel looked at each other, but didn't say a word. Sonia cleared her throat. "From what I know....someone put a hit on your parents...for double crossing, but that is not true. Your father Carlos Chacon was an honorable man. He ran a clean business and that didn't sit too well with others. I believe that my husband Julio had something to do with it because he took over your father's business instantly. I also think there was another person involved, but I don't know who." Kurt's guilt was building heavier as Sonia spoke. Samuel noticed his father's discomfort and clenched his teeth in anger. If Lily is to find out who pulled the trigger, he will lose her indefinitely. He can't allow that. Should Lily find out, he must think of a way to ensure she will stay with him. "If we can find that person, then we can...." Kurt cut her off. "I'm sorry for cutting you off Sonia, but...Lily are you ok? You look somewhat pale." Samuel looked at Lily and agreed with his father. "Baby Angel? Are you ok?" He helped her to her feet. "I'm feeling somewhat...nauseous and lightheaded." Samuel cupped her face. "I'm taking you home now." He picked her up bridal style. Ophelia stopped him. "Sammy, take her upstairs to your old bedroom. I'll bring her some water and call the family doctor." Samuel nodded and headed upstairs, kicked open the door to his old bedroom and gently placed her on the bed. "Hey baby." He whispered as he moved a strand of hair away from her face. Lily smiled at him, then closed her eyes. Ophelia walked in with a bottled water and handed it over to Samuel. He twisted the cap open as Lily sat up. He gave her the bottled water and she drank less than half. "The doctor will be here soon." Ophelia offered. Samuel turned to his mother. "Thanks mom." A maid knocked on the door and announced the doctor's arrival. Samuel got up from his spot on the bed giving the doctor better access. "Hello Doctor Thomas." The doctor nodded. "What happened young lady?" He took out his little light as he examined her eyes. Lily looked at the doctor. He was an older man, about in his 60's. He had kind brown eyes and hair white as snow with a touch of gray. "I...I felt dizzy and nauseous." "Hmm. And has this happen before?" Lily whispered no. The doctor took out his stethoscope, warmed up the metal piece with his hand before placing it on her chest. "When was your last menstrual cycle?" Lily started to think and couldn't remember when she last had her period. "I...I'm not sure exactly." The doctor went into his bag and pulled out a pregnancy test. "Here, this is a pregnancy test. Go to the bathroom and urinate on this. When you are done, bring it back to me in this cup." He handed her a plastic cup. Lily took the pregnancy test and walked into the adjoining bathroom. "Is she ok?" Kurt walked into the room followed by Sonia, Sandra and Johnny. Ophelia rolled her eyes when her eyes landed on Sonia. "She's in the bathroom taking a pregnancy test." Sonia held onto Sandra waiting for Lily to reappear. Johnny sat on the corner of the bed. "Oh shit bro! You might be a dad!" He said excitedly. "What are you going to name my niece or nephew." Ophelia rolled her eyes. "Quiet Johnny. We don't know anything yet." Johnny smirked at his mother. "You just don't want to be a grandma." He laughed. "Being a grandmother is a blessing from God you idiot." She held onto Kurt's arm as she glared at Sonia. Lily came out of the bathroom and gasped when she saw the amount of people waiting in the room for her. She gave the doctor the cup holding her pregnancy test. Samuel was hopeful. He planned this and he wants the answer he's been waiting for. If she is pregnant, then the baby can bound Lily to him. She went back into bed as Samuel climbed into bed beside. Doctor Thomas held the pregnancy test and read the results. "Well?" Samuel asked impatient. "Congratulations. You're pregnant." Both Samuel and Johnny high fived. "YES!" Samuel grabbed Lily's chin pulling her face to him and placed a huge kiss on her lips. "Your blessing of becoming a grandmother will be true in 9 months mom." Johnny jumped excitedly. "And I'm gonna be an uncle!" Ophelia clapped her hands. "Ok everyone. Get out of the room. Samuel and Lily need some privacy." Kurt nodded. "I agree. Congratulations to the both of you and Lily....You are carrying the future of our family so please get plenty of rest." Sonia kissed Lily's head as Sandra squeezed her hand in assurance. "Privacy? Really? That's how this pregnancy began in the first place." Johnny joked. Samuel laughed. "Get out you idiot." He laughed again, but this time they fist bumped. "Well little brother, I guess you will be the one to help me pick up my brother Gabriel from work." She turned to Sonia. "I suggest you come with us mommy." Ophelia crossed her arms over her chest as she directed her glare at Sonia. "Yes, I think it would be best if you go...with them." Kurt clenched his teeth. "Ophelia?" Only her eyes moved to look at him. Her face stood facing Sonia. "I'd like to speak to you in my office...privately." Ophelia let out an annoying sigh and walked past Kurt to his office. Sonia felt guilty for the couples current demeanor and will feel worse when the shouting begins. "I'm so sorry Kurt. I didn't mean to cause you and your family problems." Kurt waved his hands as if telling her that everything is fine and not her fault at all. "Please make sure that you, Sandra, Johnny and Gabriel return here. Don't stop anywhere else, understood?" Sonia nodded. "Don't worry dad." Johnny interjected. "I have about 15 guys escorting us," Then he patted his side where his gun rested. "Plus, I'm loaded." Sandra rolled her eyes. "Yeah, your loaded of shit." She walked by him and headed to the car. Johnny laughed. "God I love my big sister." Sonia followed shaking her head.

Kurt opened the door to his office where Ophelia waited for him patiently. "What is your fuckin problem?" Her eyes opened wide as her lips pursed thinly. "My problem? My problem you ask? Hmmm," she tapped her chin with her forefinger. "Ahh yes, it finally comes to me." Her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You bring your former lover into our home and flaunt her in my face! OH! OH! And let's not forget the little offspring you and she produce over 20 years ago." She slammed the table with her fist. "I am your wife and the mother of your sons Kurt. You WILL give me the respect that I am entitled to." Kurt walked over to Ophelia grabbing her by the back of her neck and bending her over his table. He lifted her dress, then ripped her sexy panty off. Ophelia spread her legs as Kurt opened his pants. He rammed his hard cock into her harder and harder. "So we're going to have a baby." Samuel smiled as he kissed Lily's cheek. "That was unexpected," Lily said. "How could I have been so careless?" Samuel looked into her eyes. "You don't want to have my baby?" She could hear the hurt in his voice. "No babe, I'm not saying that at all," She quickly corrected. "Of course I want to have your baby. I'm just scared for our baby safety now that crazy Julio is lurking about. That man had my parents murdered Samuel and tried to finish me off as a newborn! What makes your think our baby would make any difference?" She shook her head as tears flowed freely down her cheeks. Samuel comforted her as best he could by holding her tightly. "I will kill Julio and anyone affiliated with him before I let them near you and our child." His finger glided down her cheek. "I promise to keep you both safe." Lily buried her face in his neck taking in his masculine scent. "I love you Samuel." Samuel gently pulled her head back to look into her beautiful blue eyes searching into her soul. He only found truth in her words. "I love you too Lily. More than you possibly know." His lips found hers and kissed her passionately. From that moment on, Samuel had made a silent vow to always protect Lily and his unborn child with his life.
