Hello everybody as you can tell from the picture we're going to be talking about Bioshock! Only the first one though because I will talk about the other 2 in another part.
Okay so imagine not knowing what the fuck is going on and somehow you're in an underwater city with a guy trying to talk to you the whole time on a radio and with these psychotic people running around trying to kill you the entire time.
Yea pretty fucking crazy.
This game revolves around a guy named Jack. Jack was in an airplane before it crashed and he landed near a lighthouse in literally the middle of the ocean. He goes into the lighthouse and that's when he is taken to Rapture. A city where something went horribly wrong. Along the way he meets this guy named Atlas. Well doesn't necessarily meet, he talks to him on a radio. Atlas is trying to find his family and Jack is helping him while also trying to find a way back to the surface. He goes through many different areas throughout the game and they are quite interesting.
However the place...well isn't the greatest. Something happened to the city. It's basically nothing but destruction. The people who are roaming around are also batshit crazy and will do ANYTHING just to kill you and for adam. These "people" are known as Splicers and trust me the more you deal with them the less stressful it is but the unsettling feeling doesn't go away.
Now if you haven't played any of the Bioshocks you are probably wondering what adam is?
Adam is something that can be considered as some type of genetic modification. You can harvest Adam and use it to get Plasmids. Plasmids can be considered as a type of "power". They are injected into the body and whatever you inject is what "power" you can now use. These include: freezing, telepathy, Big Daddy control, and a bunch more.
Now at this point I bet I know what you're thinking. 'Um what in the actual hell is a big daddy?' A Big Daddy is like this giant robotic thing that will usually have some type of drill on its right arm? Or left but I think its right. Anyways it will charge after you as its main purpose is to protect the little sister. The little sister is a little girl that you will soon have something to do with them when you meet this lady. They also collect adam from this long ass device, but they don't do any harm to you.
Now that's a lot of explaining about the game, lets get into the actual review.
I probably finished Bioshock (the first one) in about 2 days? Trust me it wasn't short I literally played it nonstop because I liked it so much.
I was shooketh with how well the game actually was.
It had a great atmosphere, great combat, and great setting like for real.
However the combat did seem a TAD bit easy sometimes but who knows maybe I'm just that good. Kidding kidding. The final boss whooped my ass man like no joke. I was getting so frustrated. Like maybe I'm just stupid (maybe its maybelline) or like it was actually really freaking hard.
The twist at the end too also caught me. Usually I'm great at figuring stuff out but I literally never caught on to it AT ALL and I'm so disappointed in myself. Bravo developers you get a pat on the back and my 60 dollars.
I thought the whole Rapture thing was also very interesting. Personally if you told me what the game was like there is a chance I wouldn't have gotten it. I personally am not into those type of games but man I really did enjoy myself if that says anything.
If you haven't played it yet I recommend it as big as a big daddy. And if you ended up having a question about anything I said or want to clarify something about the game let me know!! I will be happy to help !
If you also have any other recommendations please feel free to let me know and let me know what you think about Bioshock or the series as a whole! I would love to hear your opinions good or bad but remember no spoilers !
Sayonara bitches
