Here is the next chapter sorry for the wait!
By noon meal I was pretty sure that what had happened at the showing had spread around the Academy. I had followed Daimen’s orders and headed back to my room, my body was still shaking from what had happened. I wasn’t sure what had happened back there, that's what terrified me the most.
I spread out further, snuggling deeper into the bed.
The whole walk home I had spent trying to prevent myself from turning around and letting this other half of me rip Tanya to shreds with my hands and teeth, and the mere thought of the words she said made my skin crawl. That was what I couldn’t understand, I had fangs. Sharp, skin ripping fangs that I wasn’t supposed to have until my instructor, Daimen, turned me on my eighteenth birthday which was two years away. One thing I couldn’t understand was why Cyrus and Tanya’s father, Wilson, had met at the 6th Academy, with the danger of being so close to Arteriel.
Arteriel, the humans capital and the only city with a large population of humans left since the war began. It was one of the most dangerous and most protected cities in the states. Ragged metal fences surrounded the cities with hundreds of human guards scouring the streets making it the deadly to almost any Nightwalker or Shadow Demon who entered. So why would several Council members meet at the center of death?
I growled and threw my jacket towards the door.
“When I gave you this, I didn’t expect it to get such abuse.” I shot up from where I laid, my eyes wide. Daimen stood before me in the center of my once empty room a smirk gracing his face, my jacket in one hand.
“Why do you do that.” I shouted, chunking one of the pillows off of my bed at him. He caught it easily in his free hand before throwing it back at me, hitting me straight in the face.
I glared.
Giving a quick laugh he moved forward sitting on the end of the bed. “Ryna,” He said pausing, wringing the worn jacket between his hands he looked me in the eyes. “What happened today with that girl.”
Opening my mouth to answer, but no words would come out. The words were lost and my thoughts were jumbled in my mind. What exactly had happened? It had been racing through my mind since the moment I had walked away. I had never lost my temper before like that, I had heard what the Council had said about me when they thought I couldn’t hear them, yet their cruel words, words that made Tanya’s seem like complements, had never set me off. Until now, as the words of everyone seemed to race through my mind.
I had never felt this anger before, it was like every inch of my body had been set on fire, and I was numb with anger. I had never lost control, it was one thing that was taught to every Nightwalker that traveled through the Academy, it was one of the things that separated us from Shadow Demons, we had a soul. Something that they didn’t possess, they let bloodlust take control, and when a Nightwalker lost control they ended up like them, cold, cruel, and heartless creatures desperate to see everyone parash.
“I don’t know.” I muttered finally, my mouth feeling dry. “I wasn’t myself.”
He agreed.
“What really happened.” I said my words trailing off, I was afraid to hear the answer.
“I’m not quite sure myself, Tanya was insulting you, you started muttering to yourself and then you lunged at her,” He paused. “Fangs and all.” He looked away from me not meeting my eyes, his thoughts obviously matching mine. I was more of a freak then we thought. “What were you saying before..”
“It was nothing.” I said quickly, snatching my jacket from him.
“Karyn.”
“I wanted her dead.” I watched as he clinched his eyes closed before turning back too me.
