a thin line- blackchords

I watched her as she lay in her bed, chest rising and falling slowly.

Calum stood at the other side of the room, watching her as I did.

"Man, we fucked up." He said, running his hand through his hair.

"Yeah... I can't believe we didn't even pay attention to her." I sighed.

"I'm sorry, bro. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have been mad. You were just being protective."

"No, I shouldn't have been that way... She's not mine either way."

"She's nobody's." He chuckled.

"Look, I can tell you really like this girl. I'm sorry I made a move. I honestly didn't know and if I did I wouldn't have."

"Friends?" I asked, holding out my hand.

He smiled.

"Friends." He shook it, pulling me in for a quick bro hug.

"If there's anyone we need to apologize to, it's her." I sighed again.

She was sleeping, and neither of us wanted to bother her.

"Michael..." She mumbled.

"Oh my god." I said, trying not to laugh.

She's dreaming about me.

"Ash... Calum..."

She was saying random names of people after that.

I heard Penny, Ginger, Marcus, mom, and dad.

Wait.. Mom and dad.

He arm flew over, gripping the handrail.

Calum and I both rushed over, worried.

"No... don't leave me." She muttered a bit louder than before.

"MOM!!!" She screamed.

I quickly reached over, shaking her.

"Kat, wake up! It's just a dream. It's ok, it's ok."

I tried everything to my ability to shake her.

But she wouldn't snap out of it.

"DAD!! PENNY!!! NO!!!" I looked over in worry, pointing to the bathroom.

"Water." I said over her screams.

Calum ran over, and I could hear him running water into one of the plastic cups.

I kept shaking her, the screams driving me crazy.

"MARCUS!! CALUM!! ASHTON!! SOMEBODY!!"

"I'm right here, babe. I always will be." I muttered, and Calum rushed back with a cup full of freezing cold water.

I grabbed it, throwing it in her face.

She gasped, sitting up.

"Michael." She reached out, hugging me.

I gasped, but closed my mouth, gently wrapping my arms around her.

Her bones were evident to my touch, sticking out of her back.

"Michael, they were all gone. You, Calum, Ashton, Mom, Dad, Penny, Marcus, Ginger... Everyone. They all died in that fire."

I felt the back of my gown start to dampen.

I leaned back, looking into her eyes.

I can't see the tears from the water on her face, but she was sniffing and sobbing, and her eyes were bloodshot.

"Please don't cry. It was all a nightmare." I said, pushing her now soaked bangs out of her face like always.

"I hate seeing you cry. I hate seeing you sick. I hate seeing you sad. I hate seeing you in pain." I rambled on.

My glance turned around to look for Calum.

He must have left.

How could he leave at a time like this?

I thought he-

"Michael?" She said, and I whipped my head back around.

"What?"

Our faces were centimeters apart.

Before I could react, she leaned in quickly, her lips connecting with mine.

I was surprised at first, but quickly closed my eyes, moving my lips in sync with hers.

She tasted like spearmint gum.

Sparks were running through my body, and my knees were wobbling.

Her arms were wrapped around my neck, and my right hand was around her neck gently, left hand supporting my weight on the bed.

We pulled apart from each other at the same time, and I just looked at her eyes.

Wow.

Yay they kissed.

But why did Calum leave tho...

I had to make it to where it wasn't awkward after bc he was just standing there so calm your tits he just wanted to leave them alone so they could be all lovey and cliché.

Man, Luke really needs to meet her.

Ok, if Luke doesn't meet her in the next three chapters, then I'll eat something healthy.

Eew.

Ok, enough of my rambling.

Ily guys!!
