Chapter 8

By the time I got to set it was 9:10 and it was cold. My hair was out, I had sunglasses on, a pair of DKNY shorts and a BCBG top to match, paired with Marc Jacobs flats the same shade of black as the shirt. How I wished I had worn sweats and a jacket! I thought it was summer not the middle of fall! Holla was crazy, she looked like she didn't sleep. Her hair was in a messy bun, dark circles were around her eyes and in a wrinkled shirt and jeans. The set was crazy, Chase was right, this place was beautiful. Fields of flowers, a small waterfall and fresh air. Then behind me a big set. Inside were dressing rooms, the set for the school and parts of the town. It was weird in London they use dressing rooms instead of trailers like in movies back home. The paparazzi were here today. I was almost trampled getting into set as I smiled it felt different from LA. I was always ready, dressed as teen actress sensation dolled up, but today I was dressed as me, Megan, the city girl having fun, not a diva on her way to a premiere and it felt good.

Connner was going through lines with Josh, Marni was talking to Holla, Kaitlyn was relaxing drinking water. We were waiting for Chase and Crissa. I sat on the chair that had my name in the back. Marni plopped down in the chair next to mine.

“Hey Megs,”

“Oh hey,”

“So how do you like the cast?”

“You guys are awesome, theres a bunch of extras and crew.” “you'll get used to it.”Then Holla turned the bull horn on.

“Ok Megan, Crissa, Marni and Kaitlyn go to wardrobe Conner, Chase and Josh stay well start on lines, lets move people!

We walked inside the building named ‘Lake view’. On the outside of the wardrobe room, it was like a wooden classroom door. Kaitlyn was first she turned the knob, inside was amazing. Ten long rows of clothing racks stretched from the entrance to the curtained dressing areas in the back. Index cards made it clear of which Designers hung on the racks: DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Dior, Calvin Klein, Juicy Couture, Joie, Diesel, Prada, True Religion, Sevens, and Ella Moss. Footwear was displayed in neat rows along the back wall and seemed to include every possible sneaker, sandals, boot, flip-flop and Ugg ever made. Crissa and Marni looked as surprised as me. Kaitlyn didn't look so surprised.

“Wow this is bugger than my house,”Crissa whispered. I giggled.

“Welcome!”a lady with strappy black hair and a deep tan steeped into view.“Im Vicky, now lets get you guys measured and fitted.”

One by one she took measurements with the small measuring tapes and rulers, then disappearing into the racks and giving them clothes. “Megan,”she called. I got off the couch. “Hello.”she said.

“Hi”

“your American no?”she asked.

“Yup, you?”

“I grew up there, I moved here when I was 19, Ive been working for Holla since, she's my sister.”

“Wait, but Holla grew up in England?”I ask

“yes Im much younger than her, when i was born she was 12, when I moved to America she was 16 she moved back to London only 2 years after moving,”

“oh, wait then Leslie is your niece, she was like my best friend,”I added. she smiled, she finished measuring me.

“Im going to give you 3 of Alice's outfits, pick your favorite and we can base most of her outfits off that style, plus I love her character, she's really brave.”she winked. I giggled.

She instructed me to my dressing room. They were on the other side of Lake veiw. It was a row of 4, mine Crissa, Kaitlyn and Marnis. The boys were across the hall. I opened the door, It was designer sort of chic. Sisal rugs covered most of the floor space and the walls were adored with vintage movie posters. A cream colored couch lined the wall, a love seat and a mini-fridge, a desk and a tiny closet. I sat the outfits down admiring each one. One was a gray fitted short sleeve blazer, a long short-sleeve lack cami, dark wash Hudson jeans and lack riding boots. the second a Heart Candy tank top was cinched with a silver braided belt and covered with a shrunken blazer, A lack peasant skirt and metallic ballet flats. Last a peach tulle top, Ella Moss sabine skirt and peach sneakers. I picked the second look, I loved it, it was totally me. I was leaving when a shadow came behind me. I turn Chase, he was smiling. I laughed. He looked like a prppy school boy, in jeans, a vest  and a wrinkly short.

“Is this James look?”I ask.

“Hardly, I was coming to say Holla wants us on the set were starting and you on first,” I close the door.

“So why are you dressed like that?”

“Vicky told me to put it on for a scene.”

“Wait I thought we weren't filming today, it was just run throughs, no camera shooting?”I say a bit nervous.

“Don't worry we run through the first few hours, and at the end if we can do a shoot we camera some footage.”We walked outside. Holla was directing the crew.

"Ok Chase, Megan, Kaitlyn, Josh and Crissa run through lines page 40-51. Try to get into the characters alright. Marni and Conner come with me inside.”
