Prologue

Nebulina Butterfly ran into the dark Mewni forest. Her sky blue hair flowed behind her as she ran. She hitched up her blue gown. Stopping under a large oak tree, she put her hands on her pink planet cheekmarks, before her hands ran to her pregnant stomach. She was too young for this. She was in pain.
Nebby slowly got up and wandered the woods. She was beginning to feel tired. At the edge of the dim forest was a small village. Before Nebby left the forest, she squatted down near a mud puddle.
Nobody could know she was Princess Nebulina. She rubbed mud onto her cheeks, cringing as she did so.
Soon, she exited the forest, wandering to the village.
"I need a doctor!" Nebby called, as villagers turned towards her. She was soon ushered into a building.

Nebby stared down at the tiny infant in her arms. The baby had light blue hair, like her own and purple slashed O's on her tiny cheeks.
Nebby didn't feel a bond. She was too young. She looked to the doctor who had delivered the infant.
"Please take her." Nebby requested. "I can't take care of her."

The next morning, Nebby wrapped herself in a borrowed blue shawl, thanking the doctor for his hospitality and for the care of her infant, as she wandered back towards Butterfly castle.

Upon returning, Nebby snuck past her sisters to avoid confrontation. It was fairly easy, since Star wasn't even on Mewni and Cosma was reading a book.
Nebby had been able to hide her pregnancy due to large poofy dresses. Her mother, Moon was the only one to know.
As Nebby headed through the castle towards her bedroom, she bumped into her mother.
Moon's hair was let loose from her curls, and she had causal clothes on. A light blue cape draped over her shoulders. Moon's blue eyes glanced to her daughter's waist.
"Where is she?" Moon instantly asked, her voice full of concern.
"I gave it to a doctor." Nebby had avoided all means of referring to her baby as a human, since she did not want to get pregnant.
"Hmm." Moon pursed her lips, slowly hugging Nebby. "Did she have any-" Moon stopped, dropping her question. She let go of her daughter, allowing Nebby to go to her room.

The infant was named Luminous, a tribute to when Star Butterfly had protected Mewni from Toffee. She was called Lumi for short.
She grew up with the doctor, but all her life she felt different. Lumi was a little girl with sky blue hair and cheekmarks. The other children thought she was pretending to be royalty, when she wasn't. Her adoptive mother, Sadie began to urge Lumi to cover her cheeks, and dye her hair purple with pink tips.
It wasn't until Lumi was 15 when she found out about the soon to be Queen Nebulina and her daughter, Marisol Butterfly.
