Rapunzel's POV:

*The next day*

Finally! Almost everything is put in its new place at our house. I look over at the clock on my beside table, and it reads 9:36. I hear Mom bustling around downstairs. Maybe there's breakfast!

Hiccup crosses my mind. I want to call him, you know, as friends, but girls don't usually make the first move... Oh, my god. No, no, no. Eugene is my boyfriend.

I shake it off.

Before I can even get out of bed, my phone begins to ring. Speak of the devil, it's Eugene. I pick it up.

"Hey, Eugene! I miss you, " I say. Do I really miss him?

"Rapunzel, can I see you later?" he asks, solemnly.

"Um, sure. Give me an hour."

"Alright. I'll pick you up later, then," he says.

"Bye..."

He doesn't sound like himself. Hm.

*1 hour later*

I walk over to Eugene's car, and step in.

"Hey!" I say, putting the seatbelt on.

"Rapunzel, we need to talk, " he says, brows arching. He drives on.

"What, Eugene? Are you pregnant?" I ask, laughing. This situation is getting a little to heavy for me.

"Look, Rapunzel... We've had a lot of fun together and I'll always have a special place for you in my heart but-"

Oh, no. He's going to do it. He's going to break up with me. I know it. "Are you breaking up with me?"

A thick silence fills the air.

"I-... Yes..." he says, quietly. "I just don't feel the same about you anymore."

I push my blond hair in my face, so I don't have to look at him. I can't look at him. "Take me home, Eugene," I say angrily.

"Rapunzel, I'm sor-"

"Take me home." I say once more, cutting him off.

It gets quiet, but he turns the back car around, towards my house.

We don't talk on the way home. I can't talk. I have nothing to say. My throat is tight, and all I want to do is scream.

He stops in front of my new house, and I jump out. I run through the door and up into my room. When I open the door, I fling myself onto the bed and yell into my pillow. The crying comes. Mom tiptoes in.

"Did Eugene do this? Did he break up with you?" my mom questions, softly.

I shake me head, and gaze up at her. She looks right back and smiles. "You'll always have me. I love you, Punzie," Mom says.
