*RECAP*
After Nialys leaves Hakeems' house, she comes home to find the front door open and Diamond in her room. Nialys finds out that Diamond is hiding something and owes someone 50k. In their kitchen, Nialys finds a piece of paper with a note written on it and she dials it in curiousity.

----

"Hello?"

The second I heard his voice my heart dropped. I recognized this person way too easily.

"Z-Zach?"

He seemed to have recognized me as well since he paused for a minute before replying. "Nialys? Wha- how did you get this number?" He stutters.

"I-I..."

I couldn't bear to stay on the phone with them so I hung up. That's the first time I've heard his voice in years...

"Why did you call it." I heard behind me. I turned my head to see Diamond back on the steps, scowling at me. I was speechless. I felt like whatever I said next was going to sound like a lie. "You shouldn't have kept it on the counter for the whole world to see."

"That doesn't mean you snoop through my things Nialys."

"No, you don't get to blame me. Why do you have Zachs' new number? You know what he did to me!" I shouted.

She started to take long strides down the stairs as she talked, "You flirted with my ex! What- you forgot what happened at that strip club already?"

I huffed and puffed. I knew that we both were wrong for messing with eachothers' ex but I'm stubborn and didn't want to admit it. But she doesn't know I had sex with Hakeem and were going to keep it that way... who knows what she did with Zach.

"What did you do with Zach?" I asked softly. I was trying to keep myself from punching this girl so hard that her brain come out through her nose.

"Did you go to Hakeems' house last night?" She asked with her head cocked to the side.

Damn. She sure know how to catch a bitch off-guard. I just decided to tell the truth since it wasn't going to be any better if I kept lying to her. "Yes." I could leave one minor detail out though. "So- you and Zach."

"He's involved in this business with me. We're- hm, I guess you can say were partners."

Now, usually I would be fucking furious if someone talked about Zach like this. But since that bastard cheated on me I didn't feel anything.

All of a sudden, there was a knock at the front door. My head snapped to Diamond and her eyes were wide. Her facial expression instantly made me worry, like is someone from her "business" gonna try and kidnap us? Or is it Hakeem? SHIT. WHAT IF HE TELLS DIAMOND ABOUT US!

"I'll answer it." I say sprinting to the door. I get on my tippy toes and look out the peep-hole and see Hakeem standing on the porch in a navy blue hoodie looking fine as ever.

"Who is it?" I hear Diamond whisper-yell from behind me.

I open up the door and look up at him admiring every single feature. Damn, those fucking eyes. So green, with his long eyelashes towering over them.

"Hey." He says licking his lips and staring into my eyes. Why did he have to be so dang sexy...

"Sunset." I was too busy gawking at him that I didn't notice him bending down to whisper in my ear.

"Sorry. Uh-- what do you want?" I said trying to signal to him that Diamond was here by slightly nodding my head to the right. He seemed to catch on quickly, which was great because I couldn't have him calling me by my real name while she was here.

"Can I come in?" He asks politely.

I look over at Diamond and she's already shaking her head no. I felt horrible for meeting up with her ex but instead of fixing the problem I made it worse by inviting him in.

"Yeah, sure."

I didn't want to look her way but I could feel her staring at me.

He steps in and immediately sees Diamond. "Hey..." That pearly white smile he was showing me faded as he made eye contact with her.

"Hi." She says sticking up her middle finger.

Hakeem just laughs it off and continues walking over to the living room.

"Hey Diamond. Maybe just try to... talk to him again. So you can atleast get closure." I said sounding a little disappointed.

Was it because I've developed feelings for him? Nah, we literally just met. And he was Diamond's ex, of course I don't like him.

"Okay." She says walking over to him.

Guess what my nosey ass decided to do? Eavesdrop, of course. I crept over to the nearby wall and tried to be as silent as I could.

"So Hakeem," she says sitting down next to him, "how've you been?"

"Good. Gettin' this money, livin' life, you feel me?"

"Yeah, I feel you," There was a short pause before she continued, "but I been meaning to ask you something for a couple minutes now."

"Alright, wassup?"

I got closer.

"Why did you pick Nialys up last night?"
