As soon as the kids were in bed that night, Alison did what she'd been waiting all day to do. She took Emily's hand and led her down the hall. In her room, she shoved the door shut with her foot and reached for the brunette, pulling her close.

Emily's happy laughter filled her head as Alison kissed her. She walked backwards toward the bed. But before they got there, Emily pushed her into the bedside chair, gently fighting off her advances.

Alison caught her hand. "There is no escaping me. I've wanted you all day. With a tug, the blonde pulled her brunette down across her lap. Emily laughted again and wrapped her arms around her girl's neck. Alison couldn't get over how right it felt - the two of them, together. After too many years of just doing what she had to do, she had something really good to come home to at night. Alison had Emily.

And that was pretty damned amazing.

She nuzzled her neck and breathed in the perfect scent of the brunettes skin. Emily was wearing way too many clothes, though. And she didn't need that big clip holding her hair off her neck. Alison undid it and set it on the beside table. Emily's hair drifted down in soft waves over her shoulders.

"I like this new color," Alison whispered, combing her fingers through the new caramel color highlights that graced the brunettes hair.

"I'm glad you like it." Emily blushed as her lover looked her over.

"It suits you." Alison caught the brunettes chin on her fingers and guided her closer for a kiss, claiming that mouth she couldn't seem to get enough of. Emily tasted as good as she smelled.

When the kiss ended, she rested her hands on the blondes shoulders. "I had lunch with Spencer today."

Something was off in her tone and alerted the blonde. "Is she okay?"

Spencer knows.

It wasn't anger she felt, exactly. More like frustration.

Alison wanted this thing with Emily to be just theirs, for the two for them alone and no one else. The family owned her. It was all about them and had been ever since she was eighteen years old.

With Emily, for the first time in forever, she felt free. She didn't want the family butting into that, bringing demands, making judgement, feeling cheated or disapproving that she was crazy for Camila's little cousin and wanted to spend every moment she could with her.

She just wanted to come in this room with her and have the world disappear. At least for a while, She wanted Emily all to herself, wanted everyone to leave them the hell alone. Was that too much to ask?

Emily pressed two soft fingers to the space between her eyebrows. "You're scowling at me."

Alison took care to keep her voice level when she answered her. "I thought we agreed that, for now, we won't tell the family."

The brunette hunched her shoulders, put her hands between her knees and chewed her lower lip a little. "I didn't tell her. She figured it out." The blonde wasn't  sure what to say to that, so she didn't say anything. Emily chided, "Spencer's not only your sister - she's my best friend, Alison. She knew there was someone, and she guessed it had to be you. And I just couldn't outright lie to her. So I didn't. She promised to keep our secret. I believe her."

Alison really couldn't blame her for breaking their agreement. She didn't blame her. She and Spencer were tight. She knew that. "Okay, then."

What does that mean?"

"It means I see your point." She traced the line of her hair where it fell along her cheek. "You can't go telling lies to your best friend. Spencer is someone who keeps her word, so she's not going to say anything. And I'm being completely selfish anyway. I wanted you all to myself."
