Chapter 5: The weight of Sin

As the sun began to rise Monika laid motionless in a peaceful slumber as Y/n rose from his bed and went to get ready for the day. After grabbing a pair of clean clothes he entered the bathroom and turned the water on, but as soon as he did a loud ringing occured in his ears. Immediately he collapsed on the ground holding his head in his hands.

Y/n: "No not now, not here!" he shouted, "Why is this happening to me?!"

His pained screams echoed through the silent room startling Monika, she quickly jumped to her feet and got one of his shirts on as she she rushed over to the bathroom door only to find it was locked.

Monika: "Y/n open the door! Are you alright?!"

Y/n: "Go away now! Hurry!"

Monika: "No Y/n! I won't leave you!"

Y/n: "You have too please!....I don't want to hurt you!"

Her eyes grew wide as she heard his words, what did he mean? was he going to be alright? As his screams became louder she couldn't help but slam her shoulder into the door to attempt to break it down. This effort lasted for several minutes until everything went quiet, the screams stopped and Monika had no idea how to react. Suddenly the door opened and Y/n slowly walked out of the bathroom, his hair covering his eyes and only an evil smile could be seem across his face. 

Monika: "Y-Y/n?"

Virus: "You should have listened when he told you to run little girl...."

His movement was quick as he lunged forwards grabbing ahold of her neck and forcing her into the wall behind her, her eyes went wide with panic as she attempted to scream but she was unable to make much of a sound. Monika struggled against his grip but his strength had increased immensely as he let out a sinister chuckle.

Virus: "You really think he loves you? That he wants you? You're a fool for thinking he was anything more than a killer!"

Little did anyone know Craig aka blackbeard was outside the door when he heard Monika be slammed back into the wall, his instincs kicked in as he slammed into the door to see what was going on inside. A shocked expression was painted on his face as he went to tackle Y/n only to crash into the wall as Y/n stepped back releasing monika. 

Craig: "What the fuck is wrong with you?! How could you treat her like that?!"

Virus: "Oh it's quiet simple, she is merely a pawn in our game. You all are, and soon enough you will all fall."

Other operators quickly rushed to the room as Craig called for backup only to be held at gunpoint. Y/n's speed was incredible, no one had even seen him grab the gun off the desk. Ash, Caveria, Twitch, and Valkaryie rushed to get Monika while Thermite, Pulse, Bandit, Rook, and Vigil pointed their guns at Y/n.

Virus: "How pathetic, it takes all of you to save two people...Well what can I expect from a bunch of losers like you."

Rook: "You're the one who's pathetic, attacking your own team, attacking the woman you claim to lo-"

Virus: "I don't love anyone, HE does. Or he use too." he laughed as his gaze drifted over to the others.

That's when everyone noticed the change in Y/n, his eyes were blood red, his expression was sadistic. Whoever this was wasn't Y/n, it was a monster using him like a puppet and yet everyone couldn't bring themselves to believe it. (In Slow Motion for this part.) "Y/n"  changed who he was aiming at to the rest of the group and as a reaction everyone opened fire on him. Monika's screams could be heard as she tried to rush back into the room but was stopped by the other operators. A few bullets hit Rook, but his armor kept him safe while a stray bullet hit Ash in the side causing her to collapse on the ground in pain. Y/n however wasn't so lucky, several bullets pierced his stomach, four in his upper chest, and three in his legs and arms. He slowly fell to his knees with the same smile still plastered on his face, he was far from done. As a final action he pointed the gun back at blackbeard and fired two rounds into his chest before finally hitting the ground completely.

Everyone was shocked for a moment but rushed to help everyone who was injured, except for Y/n who laid motionless on the ground as blood puddled around him. Monika cried as she clung to her friends while the two injured were rushed to the medical bay, a mortician was called to remove Y/n's body. A few hours had past until the mortician arrived but to everyone's surprise he was gone, no blood trail, no sign of entry, nothing. It raised more questions than it answered and left everyone wondering. What the fuck just happened?
