Chaos

A few minutes later, you heard the familiar sound of dimensional scissors cutting through a dimension and into yours. Smiling, you knew it had to be Toffee and the others (but most excitingly, Toffee) and, desperately trying to not look like an excited significant other waiting for their senpai to return. One by one, the lizard-like people filed out of the portal, looking beat up and sh00k to the core. They walked inside, glancing at you and just shrugging it off. The last to exit was Toffee. You felt yourself tense up when you seen his ripped shirt and coat. Before you could even think of any other way to ask if he was ok, you took the first option instantly and you ran towards him. You quickly then examined the rips on his clothing, and not much to your surprise, there wasn't any sign of an injury on him. He CAN regenerate, after all...

The portal closed behind him and after a moment of blindly patting his arm for any reaction of pain, you realized he was looking at you with an amused smile.

"Did you miss me, Princess?"

You blushed blue, but you then simply rolled your eyes and snickered.

"Nah, I was just checking your muscles for injuries" you said, thinking that you said "arm" instead of "muscles." Toffee's smile widened.

"My muscles, hm?" He said, lifting an eyebrow (I think it classifies as an eyebrow).

"What? No, your arm. I didnt say-" but then you realized that a moment ago, you might have said...muscles. Questioning wether or not your mind was playing cruel tricks on you, you looked at the ground with your hand still on his arm. You simply patted it and looked back at him. He had a very faint blush on his cheeks.

"Yea, well, I'm glad you're ok" you said blankly. He ruffled your hair a bit with his hand and smiled, then just walked back inside. You stood there a moment, shrugged, then followed. He was holding the door open for you, like a true gentleman.

He kissed your head quickly as you walked by, making you stop for a second before getting lightly pushed in the back to keep moving by his tail. You giggled a bit and then walked in. Crap, why on Mewnie was he so adorable? Was it because you were a monster now? Probably... Yea, that's gotta be it...right?

You continued to walk down the hall, but when you turned to go to your room, Toffee grabbed your arm and pulled you towards him gently.

"Princess..." he said quietly. "Your kingdom. It's...in chaos."

"What?!" you exclaim. "Chaos? What kind of chaos!" you demanded.

"Princess, please, quiet down. This is no secret, but yelling will just make things that much worst."

He motioned with his hand for you to follow as he walked down the hall that lead to his room. You followed quickly, hungering for more information about your kingdom, your family, your subjects. He reached the door and opened it. The smell of Toffee flooded the hall and he walked in. You quickly followed and closed the doors behind you. Turning quickly, you were met with his reptilian face close to yours. He had the blank stare on his face, the one he normally has. You exhaled quickly and deeply, then demanded,

"What KIND of chaos? Murder, raids, rampages?"

He simply walked to his desk and sat in his chair, motioning to the one on the opposite side to his. You sat, and he finally begun.

"When we stepped through the portal, it was immediately so chaotic and messed up, we assumed it was the wrong dimension. The others were quite worried, but, like a fool, I demanded that we moved forward. We were almost immediately met with knights on the back of warnicorns, sharp blades ready to dig into us... "

        The most regal looking knight brought his horse forward and pointed his sword at Toffee.
       "The Lizard, why have you returned to Mewnie at such a terrible time? Come to cause more chaos than what is already here?"
        "I'm here to speak to Queen Butterfly."
        The other knights laughed and aimed their swords at him and the others.
        "No, I don't think you are. You're here to be fully punished for the crime of killing Queen Comet all those years ago."
        "Listen, sir" Toffee said, chewing out the word as if it were an insult. "I must speak to Queen Star about her daughter" he said, clearly aggravated.
        "I knew it!" one knight yelled. "He's responsible for the disappearance of Princess (Y/N)!"
        It didn't take long for the knights to move in on Toffee and his minions. They fought close to the city limits for hours, regenerating and fighting, pushing off as many guards and knights and reinforcements as possible. It eventually brought the attention of Queen Star who, unsurprisingly, snuck out of the castle and away from her over-protective husband, Marco.
       "Stop!" she yelled. Almost immediately, the fighting haulted. Star had a cloak on, covering her face.
        "Princ- Queen Star" Toffee said, correcting himself. He made his way slowly towards her and stopped a few feet away. "Your daug-"
        "I know" she inturrupted. She then murmured quietly...
        "That's why I sent her to you..."

Toffee then looked at you.

"She told me about Eclipsa, and how she did this to you. She asked me why, exactly, but, I didn't know. But now...I think I do.

"I was getting close to the answer to my problem, proving my innocence and such, and I was fabricating a plan to get into Mewnie castle and use a memory spell I created for Moon. I had it all figured out, the guard hours, the hallways, the vents. But now, I probably can't even step foot an acre away from the city limits without being pelted by arrows. This was her plan...which makes me wonder.

"Why?"

You ponder a moment, Toffee obviously stumped. Why would Eclipsa still be worrying about any of this? More importantly, how did she find out when she was encased in crystal?...

You look at him, his gaze fixing on yours.

"You have a spy here" you say quietly. "How else would she have known?"

"That's impossible" he says, equally quiet. "No one other than you knows about any of this."

"Well, someone likes to snoop, I guess. It doesn't matter how, it just matters, who? And more importantly, how is Eclipsa and possibly Ravenna still alive?"

Toffee walks over to his chalk board and scribbles something down.

1. Find spy
2. Make plan to get to Moon and use spell
3. Find Eclipsa/Ravenna

He looks at you and smiles.

"(Y/n), I can't help but like you" he says with a loving look in his eyes.

"Toffee, I can't help but like you," you say in return spinning the spinny chair in his direction.

He walks over to you and kisses you, and this time, it doesn't feel like it was a build up.

He actually kissed you on impulse.
