Once Dimitri and I dropped off the bathroom cleaning supplies in the closet downstairs, we went out the back door of the house and walked towards the garden. I was in awe of how large their backyard was and how the garden looked from here. After taking in the view though, I got the realization that I'm probably, no, definitely going to have to be the one that takes care of this place. It is beautiful, but it's so big that every time I tend it I'm going to be there for hours.

I didn't realize that my face grew a glum expression upon it until I saw out of the corner of my eye Dimitri looking at me with concern. "Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yes, it's just your garden is so huge and I'm going to be the one that spends hours taking care of it so it's just another reminder of what I'm going to be doing for the rest of my life," I answered.

His face became sad and then told me, "I'm still so sorry about this. No one deserves the life of an Owned. My belief of this is actually one of the main reasons why my family doesn't speak much to me nor I to them. When all of the new rules for society came out, they were all ecstatic while I was disappointed of our country. None of them have any idea what it's like to feel trapped and enslaved which is exactly what an Owned is. I tried to convince them this but all they did was ignore me. I've been on the verge of hating them ever since."

We were in the very colorful garden by now. Flowers of many different kinds surrounded us as well as various trees and bushes. The environment seemed a little too cheery for the subject that we were talking about. After looking around for a minute, I finally asked him, "Is that why you were trying to make small talk with your sister earlier?"

He chuckled and then replied, "Yeah, I keep trying to make a better relationship with all of them but nothing ever works."

"That's usually how arrogant people are," I added.

He looked over to me with a smile on his face and said, "I'm sure going to like having you around. I've been homeschooled all my life and I'm not as close with my sister as I used to be so I don't have anyone to take these walks with me, but now you're here."

His statement made me smile and think Well, it seems as though that my job might be a little easier than I thought.

Dimitri and I walked for about another ten minutes but before I went back inside, I turned around to look at the beautiful garden again. With its wonderful scenery and it being a place that I can just talk to someone who doesn't feel all righteous about themself. After taking in the view, I turned around walked into the mansion.

While Dimitri went back up to his room to do some reading, I went to the kitchen to prepare dinner for the Johnson's.
