Walking back down the terminal I scanned my surrounding for any shop, restaurant, or café that would be open at 2 o'clock in the morning.
Just as I was about to give up on my search for my much needed caffeine, the familiar yet intoxicating aroma of coffee called out to me like a siren to a sailor.
Blindly following the sweet smell, I found myself standing in front of a quaint looking café that read...
'LU-LU'Z LOUNGE'.
The flashing neon red sign hanging in the lower left hand corner of the window that read 'OPEN' was more than enough evidence for me as I made my way into the homey looking café.
Walking in, the first thing that caught my eye was the large glass counter standing proudly in the front where a variety of sweets lay. Above the glass counter stood a large chalkboard filled to the brim. Displaying the different coffees, teas, pastries, and sandwiches they had to offer.
The cozy cafe had what looked to be handcrafted wooden tables with matching antique chairs. The black and white checker board pattern tiles being somewhat of an odd choice to make, but yet somehow tying the room together.
Walking to the counter I noticed a small chalk board that read,
'Please ring the bell when you are ready to order' in beautiful cursive handwriting.
After looking over the items on the menu and scanning through the rows of delectable treats in the display case one last time, I pulled my phone out of my backpack and began typing out my order. Once I was finished I did as I was instructed and rung the bell.
A few seconds passed before a fairly young blonde woman walked out from behind the double doors covered in flour. As she blew her bangs out of her face a gust of flour surrounded us. The messy bun atop her head had traces of flour in it. Flour covered her acne free porcelain skin. The light green dress-like apron she wore had large patches of flour while at the same time covering half of her name tag, only revealing the word 'Tink'.
"Tink?....Tinkerbell?" I thought to myself.
Looking closely, I noted the sparkling deep blue eyes, the small button nose, the rosy cheeks, and the more I looked, the more she began to look like a real life version of the fairy creature, and it was honestly slowly starting to freak me out.
I watched as she wiped her flour covered hands on her apron and fixed her messy bun before giving me a bright cheerful smile that no human being should have at 2 o'clock in the morning...unless they are drunk off their asses.
"Hello, and welcome to Lu-Lu'z Lounge. How may I be of service to you today ma'am."She said in a cheery high pitched voice.
"Tinkerbell...what are you on...and where can I get some because it is too damn early for you to be this happy and cheery. It should be against the law for someone to be this damn happy at 2 o'clock in the morning and-" but my thoughts were then interrupted by the fairy creature herself.
"Ma'am...are you ready to order" she uttered in a slightly confused tone.
Nodding my head yes, I simply handed the woman my phone with my order on it.
Confused by my action, she slowly grabbed the phone from my outreached hand and read aloud what was written down.
~Hello, my name is Cree and I would like one of your caramel iced coffees with a chocolate chip muffin please and thank you.
After reading the message she gives me an even brighter smile and hands me back my phone. As I slipped my phone back into my backpack I watched as Tinkerbell pushed several buttons on the cash register.
