The Royal Majesty's POV
"Order! Order in the court!"
The chattering of the room had started to minimise, and thus I was able to hear my own rapid breaths. I had always disliked the courtroom.
Our western borders had recently been infiltrated. At least thirty soldiers were slaughtered, their pools of blood calling out to me in eternal fear. I could still hear their pleads and cries. Their screams for help would forever haunt me throughout the night and day. They had called for me, they had called for their Majesty's help.
"With the latest threats to the western border it is urgent that we find aid, fast!"
"How can we do so? We are mere humans, we are dealing with the likes of creatures. It is our Majesty who should be helping us!"
With that jolting comment the entirety of the room turned their gaze to me. 40 men turned their daunting eyes towards myself, and I could feel every entity's hatred towards me.
'Useless!'
'What a pathetic child'
'We'll all die!'
Their thoughts screeched the multitudes of doubt that had already festered within my own consciousness. I myself knew that my powers were not enough to take down our enemies. Furthermore, my years of training had not willed me to have the stomach to kill another being.
But I could not hide from the truth, our enemies were closing in. I could sense them, I could feel their blood lust run wild through their veins. My enemies were eager to find me, to take me down, to claim their rule upon this world. I could not let that be, for the sake of innocent lives I would have to take serious action. I was willing to sacrifice myself if needed.
"My fellow court upholders," I spoke with false viger and confidence.
"I understand your doubt in my abilities. My strengths are not the kind you wish for. I sense our rivals wish to use our western borders as their new base. They have taken the lives of men that we could never replace. And so it is not my intention to let such vulgar actions to be allowed. I intend to have team of beings with extraordinary abilities to be assembled, all I need is more time. I understand time is of the essence, but I must be sure of the people I wish to employ. Meanwhile, I suggest we combine those of the western post to retreat to central Kaiko. We need strategy, but we must ensure that all our soldiers are safe. I will be leaving for central Kaiko tonight to meet with our associates there. Rest assure I will send the greetings from The Order of the Nye to motivate our men,"
The men of the court were somewhat sated with my words, but not reassured. I could feel their heated anger simmer to a cool as they plotted further against me. They, of course, did not care of the soldiers in the western post, they did not care of the men who had lost their lives in the western border attack. But they could find no fault in my suggestion. Despite myself being of royal blood, I was still a mere child in their eyes. And thus my actions to keep innocent lives safe seemed to be naive.
The leading court official, threw down his weighty gavel in agreement to my request, and began to read off the finishing statements that the court was required to listen to. But my mind seemed to go off into the distance. I could hear screaming once again. The screaming was of the past yet I was hearing the noise as if it was merely taking place in the present.
I could hear a soldier from the western border attack scream, as his limbs were torn from him. His name was Chitsu. He was a single father, and he had left his three year old daughter with his sister at his home in his village. He pleaded and cried for his murderer to have mercy, he screamed his daughter's name hoping she would hear the voice of her father one last time. But it was of no use, he was only heard by me, days after he had been killed.
I wiped my forehead of the beads of sweat that had made a presence.
"Please send for Kaito. I must make arrangements for soldier Chitsu's family,"
"Yes your majesty."________________________________________________________________________________
