I woke up with a mighty headache. It’s not that I don’t remember what happened yesterday, it’s just that I went overthinking last night on about what had happened inside the library.
Everything seemed unreal. The winged person that appeared in front of me yesterday seemed unreal. But then again, he DID appear in front of me. He’s real.
I got up from my bed and hurriedly prepared for school.
~.~.~
The day went by fast. It’s already dismissal time and I came here again in the library, not to summon some angel dude again but this time, to get some books related to my Economics homework.
I entered the aisle of the Economics section alone but then suddenly, I felt a hand tap on my right shoulder.
It’s him.
“Hi.” He said.
“Takaki-kun...” I mumbled, not believing my eyes. He’s talking to me?
“Anou~” he spoke again, sounding upbeat this time. “Are you getting books for our homework?”
“Ah...y-yes..” I repied, trying hard not to stumble on my own words.
“Souka~” he nodded. “Jyaa~ then can we do our homework together here in the library then?” he frowned at himself.”Ah! I would understand if you’ll feel uneasy since I don’t usually talk to you so—”
“Iiyo.” I found myself speaking before I even knew it.
“Hontou?!”
I nodded.
And then that was where it all started.
After a few weeks, Takaki-kun and I started to get really close. Too close in fact, to the point that we would usually do our homeworks in the library during dismissal time. He’d treat me some ice cream or ramen afterwards, and then walk me home.
“So...” Rio said as we sat down on a bench in the school’s garden. “What’s up with you and Takaki-kun?” she asked with a cheeky grin imprinted on her face.
“Well, uh...” I blushed a bit at the mention of his name. “We’re just friends.” And then I chuckled a bit at my showbiz-inspired answer.
“Oh...really...” she nodded her head. “You two are STILL just friends now.”
“What do you mean by STILL?” I frowned at her emphasized word.
She grinned again and nodded to the direction behind me. “Look behind you and I’m sure that you two won’t be just friends anymore after you see him.”
I frowned again, not getting what Rio had meant, but I did look behind me.
And then all of a sudden I understood what she said.
Takaki-kun was behind me, walking as he carried a bouquet of roses so huge I can’t even tell how many flowers there were bundled inside. I stood up almost immediately and walked up to him.
He smiled.
Good heavens, I could’ve sworn that I was melting.
“Here...” he handed me the flowers and I took them.
“Roses?” I said smiling and too happy. “Too mainstream.” I joked.
He pouted. “Don’t you like it?”
I just laughed it off. “Why...did you give these to me?” I asked, as if not yet getting what was happening.
“Kim,” he spoke. Now his eyes had turned serious. “I-I’ve been liking you for quite a time now.” He took a breath before continuing. “Will you start going out with me?” he stared right into my eyes. “Not as your homework buddy, but now as your boyfriend...please?”
~.~.~
Two weeks passed so fast. Two weeks had passed since Yuya and I became a couple.
Well yes, YUYA. He insisted that I call him that already, since we had gotten closer.
Today I am walking with Yuya to school today.
We entered the gates walking, because we are taking our time since we aren’t running late anyway.
“What’s that?” Yuya frowned over a crowd of students that seemed to be surrounding something.
“Shall we take a look then?” I suggested.
Before we could even approach the crowd, two people already came out from it. And from the looks of it, they were the ones who were being crowded.
“Kakkoi~” one girl said dreamily.
“Ikemen” another spoke.
And then I looked closely...
I blinked.
Why is he here? I thought to myself.
Here stood several meters away from me, is the death angel who I had summoned a few weeks ago.
