disgusted was the first word that appeared in my head
why was i not skinny?
like the models on vogue, cosmopolitan,
they appeared everywhere on windows and billboards
but i stick out like a sore thumb
my body short as if someone had squished me down to earth
my muscles were mistaken as fat
"baby fat" my mother had said
"it'll go away as i grow taller" my father had said
"you're just fat" my brother had said
