Daddy Material | Visits
Calum was on his computer surfing through his galley of saved pictures for this new project coming up. The theme was all about summer vibes, so he mostly went for more bright colors like yellow or even towards his favorite baby blue color. He took the opportunity from his supervisor that gave him this task on Monday. It was now Tuesday and Calum was still brainstorming. With his eyebrows pinched together he scrolled down the digital folder to find the perfect picture for this idea. But just when he was about to concentrate his phone started to vibrant obnoxiously.
He jumped a little bit and reached for his phone. Once he saw the called ID he answered the call and pressed the device up against his ear, whispering, "Lydia um..I—okay, love, I'm at work right now."
"Aye call me that again, I like it," Lydia giggled over the other line.
"Lydia," Calum sighed, she was too much sometimes.
"Anyways, when's your break?" She asks, the sound of gum popping in the background.
"In like two hours..why?" Calum questioned rubbing his jaw.
"What are you in the mood to eat in two hours?" Lydia proceeded to ask, completely ignoring the ones he was asking.
Calum was confused at this point, "Lydia why are you—,"
"Barbecue chips, chicken strips, lemonade, and French fries it is!" She didn't even let him finish before she decided to end the call. "Bye bye!"
Calum looked at his phone with a frown and realized that she actually hung up on him. He wondered what she was up to on this fine Tuesday afternoon. But he set his phone aside and went back to work.
Two hours had passed and Calum finally found the perfect picture that would go for this project. He had the outline ready, the font, the idea, and all he had to do now was work his magic. As he was putting his computer to sleep he got a call from his work phone.
"Calum Hood," he answered.
"Hi Mr. Hood, you have a guest here to see you and I'm sending her your way," the woman with the professional voice says.
"A guest?" Calum was oblivious to who it was.
"Have a good day sir," then the woman hung up on him too.
Calum blowed air from his lips and leaned back in his chair. He decided to unlock his phone and give Lydia a call. But before he could even do that a bag of food was being planted right on his work desk.
"Hey Calum," Lydia greeted him with that same flirty smile on her face. She extended her arms out. "Gimme a hug."
"I don't know what imma do with you," Calum chuckled standing up to his feet.
But something about that sentence didn't settle too well with Lydia, she frowned, "Are you getting tired of me?"
"No, no, no I—shit, I didn't mean it like that," Calum apologized relentlessly, feeling really bad that he even worded his sentence like that. As she stayed silent he grew worried. So he took her dainty hands in his own and gave them an assuring squeeze. Looking into her eyes to try to make things better. "I like you being around me, you're nice company and you're really sweet. Please don't think otherwise. I don't want you to run away from me."
Lydia was still a bit unsure, "You mean that?"
"With all sincerity," Calum smiled a her.
"Okay," she felt better and more assured. It's just that she heard those words before and everytime a guy said it to her made her feel..believe it or not insecure about herself. "Sorry..got a bit scared," she admits to him.
