Lafayette's Pov:

It's been almost three days since I was admitted to the hospital tent. It was so boring, but Smith kept me company. He would always help me since I was unable to walk. Smith walked up to me as I was writing a letter to my Grandmother. She is always worried about me. She supports my choice to join the war, but is still worried that something might happen to me.

"I have good news!" Smith smiled as he spoke.

"What is it?" I asked as I put my quill down.

"You're free to leave this place tomorrow." he said excitedly. I smiled like an idiot.

"Yes!" I started. "It's so boring here." We both smiled together. Smith gave me a hug. I hugged back.

"The second I get out of here I am going to the bar with you guys." I told him.

"That sounds like fun." Smith smiled at me.

"Lafayette?" I heard my name being said by the door. I turned my head to see General Washington.

I saluted him. "Sir?"

"Actually, I'm here for Smith." Washington started. I glanced at Smith. His face went as pale as a ghost as if his darkest secret had been revealed.

Washington smiled at Smith. "I'm hiring people for the position of Major General." he started. "I saw you fighting in the trench. You looked real determined to win. Like you would do anything for the freedom of your people. I need a man with that determination to lead a battalion out on the field."

Smith looked dumbfounded.

"You're kidding?" he laughed. The general just shook his head. "I'd love to." Smith laughed.

"Meet me in three hours," Washington paused. "If you can."

"Absolutely!"

Washington dipped his hat, then walked off.

"Wow!" I smiled at him. "You just got the spot of Major General."

"omgogjmwrgoi" Smith responded.

"What?" I asked with confusion.

"Sorry, had a mini seizure there..."

"Um, okay?" I chuckled. "Go tell the others."

"You sure, are you okay on your own?" he asked.

"Ya, I'm fine on my own." I started. "Do you think I can't take care of myself?"

"It's not that, I just want to make sure you're all taken care of." Jackson looked me in the eye. "Don't die."

"Got it." I nodded seriously.

"Okay, bye!" Smith was about to leave, but turned back. "I'll be back." (soon you'll see...)

He then pat my back in a friendly way.

(Y/N)'s Pov:

As I walked out of Laf's room, I noticed a nurse wink at me. I turned away and silently cringed in disgust.

I walked into Hamilton and Lauren's shared tent to find (them making out) Mulligan there as well.

"Hey guys" I walked into their tent. They turned their gaze to me.

"Hey Smith." Laurens greeted.

"Why are you looking so smiley and happy?" Herc asked me with a weird look. Then a playful smirk rested on his lips. "Did Laf finally ask you out?"

"Wot."

Hammy and Laurens started laughing like crazy.

"Where would you get that idea?" I laughed nervously.

"Oh, c'mon Smith. He's joking, but... it would make sense." Laurens responded.

"Like you can talk." I responded glancing at him and Hamilton. Their faces went as red as a baboon's fat ass.

"N-no!" Hamilton could barely muster out.

"Y-ya!" Laurens agreed. "No homo man."

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes. "And to answer Herc's question, I got a promotion!"

"Really?" Hamilton asked.

"What position?" John asked curiously. I smiled at them.

"You're looking at the new Major General" I piped with a smile on my face.

"You've got to be kidding me." Laurens had a huge smile on his freckled face.

"Nope." I laughed. Herc ran up to me and gave me a high five. Hamilton looked a little jealous, but still smiled,

"Let's celebrate at the tavern!" Herc yelled.

"I can't, I need to meet with the general in 3 hours." I answered. "Gotta be sober."

"Damn," Herc frowned.

The room was silent for an awkward minute. We then heard a few footsteps... Skipping?

"I'm a general! Whee!!!" A very annoying voice screamed happily.

We peeked outside the tent to see a very happy Charles Lee doing a victory dance.

"Looks like someone else who isn't me got a better position." Hamilton whisper shouted so only our little clique could hear it. He crossed his arms and made a face like an entitled teenage girl.

We burst out laughing.

"Hey!" Charles Lee heard our loud fit of laughter and turned his attention to us. "None of you are major generals"

"Actually," Herc started, he then pointed to me. "this one is"
