A/N: Okay, I was kinda scared to post this because this is my first time writing a fic on this fandom (which has quite a following); but I couldn't help myself. I can't wait to hear people's thoughts on this. I'm having loads of fun writing it! That being said, this is not totally canon-compliant; I'm sorry if that's a turn off for some of you, but I hope you can look past it.

Little side note: Your powers are explained and such throughout the story; but if you want a resume-like description of them to make it easier for you, I have absolutely no problem making one and adding it on to this chapter.

That's enough of that! Let's get this party started!!!

(Y/N) never understood why her father left them. Her mother had always tried to explain that he did it out of love and concern for his family. After all, he was the number one hero; and with that, came many responsibilities as well as enemies. In (Y/N)'s mind, however, she would question why—if All Might could save thousands of people on a daily basis—he couldn't stay even if it meant he would have to save them every now and then.

There would be a different time to dwell on that though. Right now, (Y/N) was too busy trying to pinpoint the apartment number of the address her mom had left her if a tragedy were to occur. This was going to be the first time (Y/N) saw her father face-to-face in all of her years of existence. She wondered if he still looked just like he had all those years ago when her mom pointed him out to her on TV.

(Y/N) sighed, millions of emotions swimming in her chest; but most notably, she felt overwhelming disbelief once she faced the door. She gently knocked, clutching the handles of her suitcases as she anxiously tapped her foot. Time seemed to slow down as she heard clock-like footsteps slowly trudge over to the door.

This was definitely not what (Y/N) was expecting.

The man that opened the door looked like a homeless guy compared to the man her mom would ramble on about. The poor man looked ghastly like he had risen from the dead, or was about to be. The only similarity to All Might she could find was that he had blond hair; the shadows were so dark around this guy's eyes that (Y/N) couldn't even make out his eye color. She was so taken aback that she hadn't even noticed the owner of the apartment was talking to her until he was inches from her face.

"Oh...uh...I'm sorry, sir," (Y/N) stammered, "I must have the wrong apartment number. I'm looking for Mr. Yagi, Toshinori Yagi. Does he...still live in this complex?"

"All depends on what you want him for," the man's gruff voice cut through the air between them. (Y/N) rolled her eyes. So, yes. He was here. She took out a letter from her backpack and handed it to him. (Y/N)'s mother made her promise to never open it, though she already knew the contents; she made (Y/N) swear that she would give it to her father and try to coexist with him if something were to ever happen to her.

So there she was, giving who she assumed to be her father the letter, taking in the sight of the whithering man with disillusionment—not like she would feel any better if he looked like the public figure she'd seen. If anything, (Y/N) felt an odd sense of relief at the thought that she had not been suffering alone.

(Y/N) watched as the note crumpled in the tight grip of the person holding it. Was he crying? (Y/N) couldn't tell. She waited patiently outside for her father to get over the initial shock. They stood there in silence until Toshinori motioned her to come into her new living space.

"Have you eaten anything yet? I don't have much here, so we can order delivery," Toshinori offered.

"A bite to eat would be nice," (Y/N) nodded awkwardly, hyper-aware of her new surroundings as she sat on the edge of the couch.
