Chapter Three: A Chance

Last chapter...

"Who is the girl next to you..?" Jimin asked.

"What's it to you?" Yoongi grinned.

"I just wondered if she was maybe your girlfriend.." Jimin responded, his voice even quieter.

"So what if she is?" Yoongi said with a laugh, not denying Jimin's question. Maybe if he gets jealous and angry, this rat will leave me alone finally.. Yoongi thought to himself, his grin growing bigger. Jimin just looked down at his shoes.

"Well if you really need to know, she is my girlfriend." Yoongi continued. "Isn't that right?" He said as he turned to the girl next to him. The girl just nodded, confused by the situation but not minding the fact that he called her his girlfriend, even if she wasn't actually dating Yoongi. Yoongi decided to take it a step further to proof his words by kissing the girl right in front of Jimin. Jimin's eyes widened as they made out, but no matter how badly he wanted to run away, he felt frozen in place. When they finished, Yoongi looked up at Jimin with a huge smile on his face. Jimin's eyebrows furrowed, and with huff, he runs to find a different table. On the way, someone bumps into him and causes the young boy to fall over, his tray of food spilling on to the cold floor. The boy cusses angrily at Jimin, telling him to watch where he's going, but Jimin doesn't hear it. He just stares at the mess he made, too shocked to even stand up. Yoongi looks over at Jimin and suddenly regrets his actions, seeing that Jimin was now on the ground with his tray of food splattered all over the floor. Jeez.. What is wrong with me? Yoongi asked himself, feeling guilty for what he had done.

"Yoongi, is everything okay?" The girl next to him asks, slightly worried at his sudden change of expression.

"Huh? Oh- Yeah, I'm sorry, what were you saying?" Yoongi quickly responded as he turned his attention back to the girl.

It's been a week since the kiss incident. Jimin wasn't too upset about it now. Yoongi was just his friend, so it didn't matter if he was in love with someone; it wasn't his business. They look pretty good together anyways.. What was her name? I think she's in a few of my classes.. Jimin just shrugged it off. 

As Jimin walked down a long hall, he noticed Yoongi walking towards him, his left hand holding the hand of the girl from the kiss incident. Jimin froze, staring at their hands for a moment before lifting and flexing his own hand. Yoongi walked past him with an unamused expression on his face as the girl he was holding hands with was blabbering on about something, not even noticing the younger, masked boy who was just a few feet away from him. Jimin watched as he walked away with the girl. I wonder where they're going.. that's the opposite way to our classroom, so he must be skipping class again. Jimin sighed and continued walking to his next class.

Class went on, but the seat in front of Jimin remained empty. It began to make Jimin feel worried, nervous, antsy.. Where did Yoongi go? What was he doing with that girl? Who was she? Was she really his girlfriend? She had to be.. he kissed her right in front of his whole table, and was holding hands with her earlier.. But it didn't make sense to him. Why was he so worried? It wasn't his business who Yoongi dated, so why did it bother him so much? Jimin shook his head in attempts to clear his mind, and turned his attention back to the front of the classroom, where the Science teacher was busy explaining a project that the class would need to work on.

Jimin quickly fell back into deep thinking, despite the teacher talking and writing stuff on the chalkboard at the front of the room.

Jimin thought about the last week and how Yoongi seemed to be avoiding him. I wonder why he's been avoiding me? Maybe.. I embarrassed him and he doesn't want to be around me? Just the thought made Jimin's eyes begin to tear up. I don't want to lose him but maybe it's for the best.. A tear rolled down Jimin's cheek and a small sniffle could be heard from behind his mask.
