Thomas POV

I wake up with a sharp breath in my...own...home. My breath heaves from my chest and I look around the room in a blind panic. What happened? Where's King? What did he do to me? I swear if that son of a bitch mugged me....

I look too my left and see my badge, keys, and gun sitting on the desk. They seem normal. Then again ,I just got mugged by a demon on a fake case. Was it a fake case and planted? Or did someone else beat me to the punch? All these questions in my head, yet no answers. The king asshole was so vague I don't know what he's done to me. I feel the same, if anything just a little ill.

I rub my face and swing my legs over the side of the bed, I take a deep sigh as I stand up on shaky legs and walk to the bathroom. I lean against the sink and take a few deep breaths,I feel dizzy. Like the type of dizzy where one wrong step could send you plummeting to your death. When you have those off days where everything in your home seems to be shifted three feet to the right. I look up in the mirror and study myself. I seem normal enough.... Two eyes, one nose, one mouth, two ears, one head, and four arms. I'm kidding,I'm kidding. Everything's the way it should be.

"Thomas?"I hear Alexander's voice call through the house and the door slam shut a few minutes later. The sound of keys rattle and grocery bags crinkle as he sets them on the table. He doesn't sound alarmed in any sense, odd. I look at the clock, six forty two am. I was out over eight hours.

"Y-Yeah?" I call back and slowly walk back into the bedroom. Each step seems to hold more power to it. I feel like I've taken ten shot of Nyquil than ten bottles of five hour energy. Every sound in the house is crisp.

"How was your day off?"He calls. Alex leans against the doorway of our bedroom. He crosses his arms and looks up at me with a gentle smile. His hair cascades over his shoulder and his glasses are sliding down too the tip of his nose.

"Day... off?" I frown and rub my eyes. I reach over and push the glasses back, he stumbles a step back and frowns up at me. I blink and look at my hand, flexing my fingers. "Sorry I.."

"It's fine."He gives a quick smile before wandering back into the kitchen. I follow after him and sit on a bar stool as he starts dinner. " And yeah, we gave you the day off. You never came back from that case so we sent a few of our guys after you. They found you passed out in your car, looks like someone rear ended you before you could even get out. So we had you checked out and I gave the orders to bring you home. Looks like the rest did you justice. "He wink.

"Yeah,"I nod and look out at the sun setting over the skyline. "I feel much better. I'll be back tomorrow. "

"You're sure?"He pauses and looks back at me."They thought you were dead when they first pulled up to the scene. You were grey when you showed up at the office. Maybe a day off wouldn't be a bad idea for you." He cocks an eyebrow and set the water to a boil before putting noodles in.

"The nap helped alot obviously. "I give a smile."I'm up and around, I don't feel like I'm about to drop dead." I shrug and he worries his lip between his teeth.I get up and walk over to him. He leans back against the counter and I put my hands on his hips and touch our foreheads. His entire body relaxes and melts at the touch,he smiles. I lean down and kiss his lips slowly and lovingly, he hums softly and leans up into the kiss.

"You're sure?"He mutters against my lips as he pulls me closer. I smile and we sway slowly. I shouldn't be kissing him. I'm just going to end up hurting myself. But it's hard not to kiss him.

"Positive."I nod and sit back down. He sighs but gives his own nod.

"Alright Thomas,I believe you. Though don't complain when Peggy plays mother hen."He shrugs and he turns his attention to the food, starting to throw some meatballs into a pan.

"Peggy's pissed at me for the next ten years." I roll my eyes and he chuckles.

"I don't think so." He chuckles. "She was pretty reluctant to let you leave."I roll my eyes and smile. Peggy can't ever stay mad at someone for too long. " Toss me that tomato will you?"

I nod and pick up the flush red tomato with care. The skin punctures at my fingertips. I frown and study it for a moment. Maybe it just has thin skin... nether the less I still throw it at him. Boy was that a mistake. My little toss turned into a major league baseball pitch real quick as it sails mere inches away from Alex's face and splatters against the wall with a sharp crack. Smoke billows out from the core of where it hit.

Alex and I stare at it in awe. The room goes dead silent, even the sizzling meat seems to have shut up. Alex opens his mouth and points at it and slowly turns his head too look at me. He blinks and licks his lips before looking back at the decimated tomato. He takes a step back and leans against the fridge while running a hand through his hair. I study his unreadable expression other then shocked. My fingers flex and my muscles seem to be singing for another burst of energy like that again.

"Maybe I should lay off the gym for a while. "I give a weary smile and his eyes snap to me.

"What did you take?"He asks softly. I blink at him and stare. He thinks I would take drugs.

"I'm sorry,what?"I stand up.

"What drugs did you take?"He asks louder and actually moves to fully face me.

"I didn't take any drugs!" I frown and cross my arms."You know I wouldn't."

"I don't believe you."He shakes his head and growls."Where did you find those drugs and who gave them to you?"

"You can test me. I'm not on anything!" I huff and grind my teeth. He goes through every check we were trained for. He checks my blood pressure, eyes, heart rate, digestion. The works. By the end his eyebrows are screwed up and he wrecking his brain for anything. "Are you done?" He sighs and after a few minutes he nods.

"Maybe it was a muscle spasm. "He shrugs and continues. I nod and bite my lip.

"Yeah.... Maybe a muscle spasm. "I muse out loud.
