I arrive at the school and park. A minute later I see another car pull up.
"Natsu." I whisper.
The car pulls up next to me and rolls the window down. I see Natsu smiling at me. Almost laughing.
"I can't miss your car anywhere! You sure do love your ponies!" He chuckles.
I blush. "Yeah I do."
I have big mlp decals on my car. I stick out like a sore thumb but I love it.
"Come on. Follow me. My house isn't far" He says and I nod and start my car.
I follow him out of the parking lot and he leads me down only a few blocks. It's a nice neighborhood, it's quiet and seems peaceful. We pull up to a white and beige 2 level house. He pulls into the garage and I park in the driveway. He closes the garage and opens the front door for me. He motions for me to enter first by bowing and holding his arm out. I blush and enter he follows and closes the door behind himself.
His home has white leather couches and a big tv in the living room. The floor is dark hardwood and there are paintings hanging in the walls.
"Here's my home! I hope you like it. The office is right here." He points to a room right next to the front door.
I put my hand on the door nob and look at him. He nods and I open the door. I see a big desk and a lot of books on shelves on the walls. There is also a loveseat and a radio on a end table.
"This is so nice!" I squeal and head to the desk and sit down.
I take my work out of my bag and place it on the desk. "Thank you so much for allowing me to work here." I smile at him. He leans on the door frame and smiles.
"I'm happy you asked for help. I was hoping you really would contact me if you needed help." He smiles and turns to leave.
"Wait!" He turns around and looks at me. "Speaking of help. How are you with math?" I ask with a blush.
"Pretty good. Why?"
"Because I'm horrible in it. My teacher is Miss Scarlet and she said we could ask for help but I'm scared. She's extremely intimidating." I say while shivering.
He chuckles.
"I know her. She's a old friend of mine. She is scary but also very nice. But I can help you with that as well if you want." He says softly
"Yes please! But once I'm done with this. If I focus I won't take long."
"Sure. Let me know when your done." He smiles and leaves. I smile softly and get to work.
I finish in a hour. I ended up doing 4 pages in total. There's a stapler on his desk so I staple my papers together and put them in my bag. I get up and exit the room to look for Natsu. I see him sitting on the couch watching tv.
"Natsu? I'm done." I say softly so I don't startle him. He turns to me and smiles.
"Ok then. Let's see what we can do about math. How about we sit in the dining room since the office only has one chair." He says
"Sure. I'll get my bag."
I go back to the office and grab my bag and head to the dining room table. I take out my math book and cringe. I forgot it was so basic. I hold the book tight and look at him with sadness.
"Please don't laugh. I'm horrible in math. She gave us a test to see what we know and gave us books based on it. This is mine...." I say with embarrassment and hand him the book. He looks at it and grins.
"This will be a breeze! Trust me I'm a good tutor. Sit down. Let's get started." He says with a smile. I smile softly and sit down.
I admire this man. He's trying so hard to help me. But math is foreign to me. I know the basics but don't ask me what 3x-y+8z x 98 is without me looking at you like you just spoke in Ancient Greek.
Natsu groans and sits back in his chair.
"I'm sorry Natsu. Math just isn't my strong point." I say with a sigh.
"It's ok. I don't expect you to understand everything right away. We will just need to set up more tutoring sessions." He says with a small smile. I smile slightly then frown.
"What's wrong? Don't you want me to tutor you?" He says with a pout to lighten the mood.
"I do. I really do. It's just my husband. He doesn't know I'm here and if he found out he'd go nuts. I lied to him about where I was going for that reason. He's very jealous. Especially of other guys. I don't know how I'd do more tutoring." I say sadly
"But I'm just helping you with school. I'm your teacher for goodness sake!"
"It doesn't matter to him. He'd still think I'm cheating on him. I've never cheated! I'm to stinking loyal even though I don't love him...." I feel
My eyes start to water and I wipe them away
"Is that why you don't wear your ring?" Natsu asks sympathetically
"That and I had to pawn it..."
"What?! Why?!"
"To live. It was my ring or a roof over my head. I chose a roof. I could never afford to get it back so it's gone forever now which kills me because it belonged to my mother." I explain with sadness in my voice
"And he let you do that?!" Natsu yells while slamming his hand on the table causing me to jump.
I just nod.
"I can start to see why you don't love him. If you don't love him then why stay with him?"
"You won't like my answers for that." I say flatly
"I bet I won't but still tell me. Please."
"One for a place to live. Everyone hated me being with him but I didn't listen back then. So everyone abandoned me. Two is because he threatened suicide if I left." I explain and I see Natsu get madder
"You know he's just controlling you right? He's taking advantage of you and your kindness. Your paper said he's disabled. So you care for him to?"
"Yes. He's like a child. He needs to be taken care of. He can't cook or clean. If I'm not home he won't do anything stupid but he will be in front if the tv playing video games and eating junk food until I make him move."
Natsu just shakes his head. "How do you deal with all this?" He asks
"I don't. I mean I barely do. Why do you think I have depression and anxiety? I'm borderline suicidal to but I don't tell anyone that part. I probably shouldn't of even told you because now you'll worry. Don't worry. I can't follow through no matter how badly I want to."
Natsu just looks at me shocked. He looks like he's on the verge of tears. I look away and see the clock. It's 11pm. Wait what?! My eyes grow wide.
"It's late! I need to go or my ass is grass! I'm sorry Natsu. Thank you for everything. I'll see you in class tomorrow. Bye!" I say quickly and dash out of the house and close the door behind me.
I get to my car and pull out of the driveway and I see Natsu open his door and look for me as I drive away.
"I'm so sorry Natsu." I say as I drive away.
