Getting Closer

Curtis POV:
"Alright bail is $2,500, cash only"
"Um, ok, let me just go get some money at the atm across the street" Once she nodded I started walking towards the door.
"Curtis" Nathan whispered while clutching on to the bars
"What" I walked up closer to him
" Thank you, I love you" He smiled and I smiled back. I guess I forgot to say it because he grabbed my shoulder through the cell and looked sad
"Do you love me too?" he sounded worried
"Of course I do Nathan" I started to walk out again.

Nathan POV:

Curtis loves me! I'm so glad because i've had the biggest crush on him. since i've met him. If Nathaniel never found out about our little kissing scene, I wouldn't be here. I'm going to get revenge on him when he least expects it. I sat back down on the rusty, filthy bench that was bolted against the concrete wall. I must've zoned out or fell asleep or something because the sound of the cell opening startled me. I looked up and saw Curtis with a big smile and the officer ordering for me to step out. The first thing I did was wrap my arms around Curtis so tight and then I buried my nose into his shoulder while grasping into the back of his shirt.
"C'mon, lets go" He separated from the hug an out his arm around me. We walked out like that. When we got in the car he looked at me. He had rolled his eyes and smiled
"What the hell were you thinking?! Running from the cops?"
"I kinda freaked out in the moment" I said while looking out the window.
"Yeah I could tell. Does your mom know?" He started to back out of the parking space.
"I tried calling her when I got to the station but she didn't answer"
"Well try calling her now" Curtis explained
"My phones in my car" I laughed
"Ok, well when we get to your car, call her. It's important she knows"
"Yeah, Yeah whatever. Are you my dad now" I giggled
"Only if you want me to be" We both laughed over Curtis' stupid but not surprising answer.

Curtis POV:
We pulled up to Nathan's car and before he could get out I had to ask him a question.
"Can I stay at your place tonight, I don't really wanna see Nathaniel."
"I have a better idea, when I call my mom, I'll ask her if we can both fly back to Arkansas and you can stay there with me for a little while until things get figured out!"
"Ok, we will discuss it after"
"Alright, lets just go back to my place for now" Nathan patted me on the head while playing with my hair. He got in his car and I followed him as we pulled away.

Nathan POV:
Back at my place, Curtis and I sat on the couch and I dialed my mom.
"Hello?" Her voice echoed through the phone
"Hi mom" I was nervous, how was she gonna react that I got arrested. Once in middle school I got suspended and she didn't speak to me for three days.
"Hey Nathan, what's up bud?"
"I need to tell you something that's happened today"
"Ok, you can tell me anything" Her voice sounded sympathetic
"I got arrested a couple hours ago" I took a deep breath. She was silent on the other news but then she said....
