We both sat on the floor, leaning against the wall.
"It's a lot more complicated than you think." He flipped his hat around to the back.
"What's so complicated? It's just a bunch of demons killing people."
"That's only from Dark."
"Well what happened to them??"
"Who first, there's so many..."
"Anti."
"Well, he got depressed from jealousy and sadness, and killed himself, just like me. He didn't escape Dark, though. So he now lives forever as Dark's puppet, and trying to get revenge on Dark."
"Okay... What about Natemare? I think Anti told me something about him."
"Oh gosh... Natemare is a doozy... He woke up on some couch at a hotel, but was attacked by The Masked Gang. He was forced to put on some sort of mask that switched his mind's thoughts around into thinking that he needs to get revenge on someone. But it also forced him to kidnap people and make new demons. He is The Masked Gang's puppet, but they are Dark's. He recently found himself again, but he is one of the very few of the living people that can save us. You are one of those people."
"Well what about you? You said 'us', like you were including yourself. What's up with that?"
"I'm supposed to be dead. But I'm not. My soulless body is still roaming the streets, as a serial killer. Under Dark's control, as always."
"Well then what about Dark?"
"Oh... That greedy bastard... He deserves to be tortured for all eternity."
"What did he even do??" I shrugged.
"He disobeyed."
"Just tell me..."
"Fine..."
"So he was killed, and he met Damien and Celine in the pits of Death. They sent him back to life, more powerful than he ever was, on a mission to save us all. But he disobeyed. He took advantage of his power. He found my dead body, and just used his strength to put strings around mine, and EVERYBODY else's wrists. Not literally, though. When I killed myself, however, Celine and Damien brought me back, too... But I didn't take advantage, I failed. My chance is over. I'm just... Normal."
"You still can save us. And so can Mark."
"But Mark has Dark as his evil side..."
"I know, but they're two separate people, unlike you and Anti."
"How the fuck am I even gonna kill Dark??"
"I'll help you. I'll be your guardian angel. Literally." He laughs at his joke.
"I can't kill a demon..."
"Oh, you have no idea."
