Chapter X: Hello, Hope's Peak!

The massive high school towers over all the other buildings in this bustling urban area. It's like the school stands at the center of this entire world called Minecraft.

It brings in top students from every field imaginable. A government-funded school of privilege. They say that if you come here and manage to graduate, you'll be set for life. With hundreds of years of tradition, it sends the cream of the crop into the work force every year. It was built to raise hope in the nation's future. Which makes Hope's Peak a pretty fitting name.

There are two things you need to attend this school... One, you have to already be attending high school. Two, you have to be the very best at what you do. No ordinary student could enroll here. The only way in is if you're scouted by the school itself.

And standing there at the gate of the ultimate school filled with the ultimate students...

Before we go any further, my name is Jesse. I'm nothing more than an ordinary guy. All I really to is spend my days just being in a treehouse with my pet pig, Reuben. Standing in front of a school like this, it's almost surreal. Of course, I didn't come unprepared.

I wasn't really alone in my treehouse. I had friends staying with me in my younger days. From what research I did, I found out that they were also attending this school.

Olivia, the Ultimate Redstone Engineer. She's also been known as the Redstone Master . It's also been rumored that she's the apprentice of one of the members of the Order of the Stone, Ellegaard herself. Although, I believe it's false. Either way, it's great to see a familiar face at this new school.

Other than Olivia, my friend Axel is also attending this school. He's the Ultimate Demolitionist. Along with the slightly concerning ultimate talent, he's really just a giant coward on the inside. I'll have to admit, it's rather surprising for a guy with a 2.5 block build to have less confidence than expected. It's what others might call a "gentle giant".

What about me, you might ask? Well it's a really stupid talent. I'm the Ultimate Lucky Student. The lucky student is chosen through a raffle all across Minecraft. And there was only going to be one winner per year. Although, my talent could've definitely gone to someone else. Well, if this talent's just too embarrassing, I'll just never tell anyone. It's not like a trust and lie murder mystery-like situation will take place anyway. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Well, I'd better step into the school.

I built up my confidence piece-by-piece and stepped into the school grounds. Huh, I guess it wasn't so daunting after all. I think the invitation letter said to meet at this main hall at 8.00a.m...

Oh.

It's only 7.00a.m. Well, no wonder why there is nobody here. I guess I really am excited afterall. Even without Reuben by my side, I'm sure I could have a good time here.

Jesse: Alright! Let's do this! I should start looking at the billboards. Oh wait, what am I doing? They're empty anyway. Isn't there supposed to be anybody greeting the new students? How very strange.

Jesse: Whelp, I'll just have to be the one to greet everyone. I can make a good impression in front of everyone.

Jesse: Wait,-

...

Why is everything so dark? It's getting darker. I feel like the world is spinning. No! This isn't how I die! I'm sure it'll be alright.!

I guess I'll just let myself pass out. So much for the good first impression.

Who ever knew this school wasn't going to be as welcoming as I thought.
