Moving to LA was the biggest decision that I made. Michael talked to my parents, dad was reluctant but soon persuaded. I was happy that my parents agreed with what we have decided. This was a big step for us both. I know he had a lot of relationships before, trust me, I know everything, but I don't recall any of her ex-girlfriends ever lived with him. So, I thought that I was more special than any other girls he ever dated. I was so happy. We were both happy.
He talked to me colleagues to move to LA for the duration of our movie making. They were excited about it and happy at the same time because Michael agreed to pay all the expenses of their trip to LA. I told him that we will pay for his expenses, he didn't want to but we insisted. It was a very happy time for all of us. I got the best of both worlds, I was living in with my boyfriend and I was doing very well with my work.
Ewan McGregor did a small role in my movie, which was a very big deal for all of us, we were a bunch of nobodies and here comes Ewan, a big hollywood star, acting in our movie. It was spectacular. It was surreal. While Michael was busy shooting for his film, I was busy directing my film. We would get together every night for dinner, I was really happy because I was with him everyday. My work became a lot easier.
After months of hard work, we finally finished filming. Michael agreed to co-produce the film. He introduced me to film editors that he knows which was great because they helped us edit the film. Michael was very helpful and he is the best thing that has ever happened to all of us especially on my part.
The movie was received very well at the press junkets. Maybe because Michael co-produced it and Ewan had a role in it. But, I was confident in what I did with the film. I was sure that it was a good film. Not the best but it was good.
I invited the crew, cast and some of my friends for a party at my friend's house in Malibu. Michael couldn't make it because of his filming schedule. I was sad but I understood it completely. He was just doing what he does best, acting well.
Ewan arrived and he looked so gloomy so I went to him and invited him out to the balcony.
"What's wrong, Ewan?" I asked. I was worried.
"Do you have a cigarette?" He asked.
"I thought you quit already?" I said.
"Just give me one." He said. He was mad.
"Okay, okay. Just calm down." I said while reaching into my purse and took out the pack and a lighter.
