I walked to school with a huge smile on my face. It was my first day at school here in Heatherville and I'm so excited I can barely contain myself! I smiled as the wind blew, going through my wavy brown hair, making it dance around wildly. I spun around, the small pink and blue plaid skirt I was wearing spinning with me. I skipped to school, singing many Disney songs as I went. After about 10 minutes of skipping, singing and dancing, I finally reached it. I smiled, my gray eyes filled with excitement. I fixed my shirt, my lucky blue one with a unicorn on it. I was also wearing a beige jacket with my favorite buttons pinned to it. I may give a little too much thought into my appearance, but it's the first day! I ran inside, people filling the halls. I giggled and skipped over to the lady that wasn't paying attention, but rather looking at a smaller girl with a bruise on her right cheek. My smile slowly faded. What happened to her? The lady soon realized my presence. "May I help you?" The lady said with a kind smile on her face. "Yes, ma'am. I'm Clarity, the new student." She shuffled her papers around before handing me my schedule. "Have fun, dear." I nodded, looking back to the girl in the office. She had a black hoodie, black skinny jeans and a dark purple shirt on with a cool image. It had a rabbit with a button for an eye and a skeleton cat next to it. "Whose that?" I asked, pointing to the girl. Her hair was a matted straight brown, her gorgeous blue eyes filled with tears. "That's Hope. Poor girl gets bullied around every corner. Yesterday she was locked in her locker all day. Today, some girls and their boyfriends beat her up." My heart broke upon hearing that. Why was she getting bullied so much? "Maybe she could show me around?" I offered, hoping to possibly help her with her bullies. "I'm sure she'd enjoy that since she doesn't have any friends." The lady then stood up and disappeared into the back. I looked at Hope, seeing she was fiddling with her fingers, tears slowly rolling down her ghost-pale skin. She looked so scared and sick, I just wanted to hug her and tell her everything was alright. Soon the lady came back with a smile. "I had her teachers excuse her for the day, so, feel free to talk to her if you want." My heart fluttered when she said that, letting me into the office. I sat next to Hope, trying not to scare her as I waved a small 'Hello', but, all she did was look at me before looking back to her black converse as if they'd give her and answer. I sighed a little, quietly humming in thought. I then looked back over at Hope. "Hi, I'm Clarity, what's yours?" I asked gently, already knowing the answer. It was an attempt at starting a small conversation. I kept the volume of my voice low, not wanting to startle or intimidate her from my loud voice. She looked at me and I could have sworn I saw the tiniest glimpse of happiness in her eyes before they returned to their sorrowful state. "Hope..." was all she said. Her voice was extremely quiet, hardly above a whisper. I smiled at her and stood up, holding my hand out slowly, not wanting to scare her away. "Could you show me around school?" I asked her with a soft voice, for if I didn't, I felt like she'd shatter into a million pieces, unable to be fixed. She nodded slowly, taking my hand cautiously. I smiled, gently pulling her up, giggling as I did. Her face still looked sad, but, she seemed to be in a little bit of a better mood. "Well, let's go!" I say gently, carefully pulling her along as I walked. We walked down the halls, people giving us glares and some recording us. I waved to everyone and looked back at Hope to see her looking at the ground. I frowned as we went through the day, not running into anyvmore of her bullies. Soon, before I knew it, the day was over and we soon parted ways. I went home, singing, skipping slightly, and giggling, thinking of all the fun me and Hope were going to have all year long. I went inside my house. It was a simple two story like most people's. I smiled as my mom saw me walk in. I lived with both my parents. I have an older sister, but, she moved out before we moved here. "Hi, Mom!" She turned to me and smiled. She had wavy brown hair like me and her eyes were a beautiful green like my sister's. "Hi Clarity, how was school?" I smiled. "It was pretty good! I made a new friend already!" I started jumping up and down excitedly as I remembered it like it just happened. Oh, wait, nevermind! "Calm down, hun. What's their name?" I stopped jumping and my grin widened. "Her name's Hope and she's really pretty!" She laughed. I looked up at her, wondering what was so funny. "Well, I'm glad you like her. Guess the school needs some Hope and Clarity, now." I laughed at her little joke. I loved my mom.
