The time to leave came crawling up on us, it was terrifying. We were having so much fun, why did it have to end? I looked up, the sky a gorgeous display of oranges and pinks with golden grey clouds dotted within. It made me smile. It was just like Clarity, except instead of bringing me smiles, it brought chills.
It meant I had to go home, home to that hell hole of drinks and sorrow. More of John and Kelly's "fun times," more of those jerks I'm forced to call "mom" and "dad". I just wish Lillith was here to help me once again. I was pulled from my thoughts when Clarity put her hand on my shoulder.
"Hey, Hope! You want to come to my house tonight? My mom said she wanted to meet you!" Someone wants to meet me? Wait, if I go, I don't have to go home! I turned to her and smiled, quickly grabbing her hands in mine.
"I'd love to!" Her face went as red as some ginger's hair. She's adorable, and lucky for me she's not a mind reader. She smiled, a big, toothy smile that made my heart melt and my stomach do backflips.
"Mind if I come too? I'm pretty sure your parents know you're gay." Dabbson said with the biggest grin ever. That mother fucker.
"Yeah they know, come on over!" Clarity grabbed his hand, still holding onto mine, and dragged us to her house, singing a song I didn't know. I looked at Dabbson, he had that look of 'what have I done,' knowing he should have just gone to a hotel or straight home. I laughed, which made Clarity laugh, and Dabbson sighed knowing it'd be a long night for him.
It took about 15 minutes of Clarity dragging us all over town until we got to her house. She didn't live too far from me actually. Yet as we were walking, I swore I saw John staring at me. He was washing his car.
We stood on Clarity's front steps as she finally let go of our hands, looking for her keys. Dabbson looked relieved, but I was a bit sad. Her hands were pretty sweaty, but I think it's just one of the things I love about her. Damn, I must be hopeless if I love sweaty hands.
After five minutes of her fumbling around with her glittery unicorn keys, we finally got the door open and inside. Her house was cozy, the walls were a warm beige, and filled with family photos. They had been everywhere, there were photos of Egypt, France, and even China. She looks cute in one of those pollution masks too. Can she stop being attractive? Please? It's really not fair.
She locked the door behind us and skipped into the kitchen. Wait, her shoes are rainbow. Wow, she really is gay, huh? We looked at each other before Dabbson walked in ahead of me. The hallway was short, with a bathroom door on the side. Her kitchen was spotless, with even more family stuff, Her mom even had one of those "I kiss better than I cook". I wonder if Clarity was like that.
"MOM, DAD, I'M HOME!" Her sudden shout made us jump. After it was silent, you could hear a pin drop. It was like one of those 'you aren't the father' reveals from that Maury show.
"HI HOME, I'M DAD!" and with that, we cringed, even Clarity went back on that one. It was the lamest thing I had ever heard. "Dad!" She sounded so embarrassed. I would be too if my parents were like that. Her dad came down, he was tall, but not super tall. He had shaggy brown hair, and brown eyes just like Clarity. I can also see where she got her button nose. He grinned and his eyes lit up.
"Ah! So this is your girlfriend huh?" My brain short-circuited. G-girlfriend?! He thought I was...
"AAA DAD!" Clarity was redder than I was and hid her face, Dabbson was just laughing his ass off. That jerk. Clarity's dad laughed, he was skinny, but damn he had a man laugh, one from the gut.
