Chapter 6://

Today's my first day at work and I'm currently getting ready.

I had my uniform shirt on with my name tag, black skinny jeans, and red vans.

I had my hair in a low pony tail and my tips curled.

My makeup was just a gloss,with mascara and foundation.

And I'm finished.

I grabbed my keys off my desk and put them in my purse.

I got in the car and started it... or well tried.

The car wouldn't start.

This is my first day and I'm already gonna be late!

Just as I was about to call my dad Calum came out of the house.

"Hey Mari do you need a ride?"

"That would be helpful" I said smiling great fully.

We got in his car and drove to my work.

Cue the awkwardness.

He turned the radio on and I heard one of my favorite songs... The A Team by Ed Sheeran.

"White lips pale face,

Breathing in the snow flakes.

Burnt lungs, sour taste.

Nights gone,

Days end.

Struggling to pay rent.

Long night, strange men" Calum sang quietly

"And they say she in the class A Team,

Stuck in her Day Dream.

Shes been this way since 18,

But lately her face seems slowly sinking wasting,

Crumbling like pastries and they scream,

The worst things in life come free to us" I sang a little bit louder than Calum.

He smiled ,

"You have an amazing voice"

"Thanks" I blushed

The car ride contained laughter and songs being sang.

"Thanks Calum " I smiled great fully

"No problem babe" he winked and drove off.

That was interesting.

I walked into the Pet Store to be greeted by Stacy.

"Hi Mari" she smiled

"Hi Stace, where do I start working?"

"Well umm Sue told me to tell you once you arrived that she needs you to mop the aisles and then clean the dog cages" she smiled

"Okay thanks Stace"

I quickly finished mopping in 15 minutes and made my way to the pups.

I walk to the first cage and see theirs no dogs in there so they must be getting cleaned.

I cleaned all the cages and was to the last one.

But there was a big brown spot in the cage..

A puppy!

I picked it up carefully and smiled talking to it as if it were a baby.

"Awe Arnt you a cutie! Yes you are! " I said giving it cuddles

"Well that was a nice show" I heard a voice say

I turned around to see Ashton.

"Oh sorry I just saw her here and she was alone and I needed to clean the cage" I was ranting and he shut me up by saying,

"It's okay love! No harm" he said smirking

"It's nice to see you've met Bitty anyways"

"That's her name?" I said focused in the tiny pup in my arms

"Yah, she was born a month ago" he grinned

"She's so perfect, I wish she was mine" I smiled

"I know, Sue wants her to be kept by someone she trusts." He smiled grabbing Bitty from me so I could clean the cage and leave.

He put her back in and closed it.

Me and Ash both walked out if the room and were looking for Carl to tell him we were leaving home

"By Carl!" Ash said as he spotted him

"Me and Ash are heading home" I said smiling

"Okay see you tomorrow" he said putting bird seed in the bird cages.

"I'll see you tomorrow ash." I said as I gave him a kiss on the cheek.

" By Mari" he said blushing and leaving.

I called Calum and he got here within minutes and brought me home.

I got a quick shower to wash out the smell of cleaning supplies and headed to bed without dinner...
