Sorano's p.o.v.

The white limo drove through the streets of the city. It was a beautiful day in Paradise city and Sorano once again wondered why he always ended up in the weirdest situations. He was of course present inside the white limo and have had different assignments getting people from the airports or such before. Whoever Declan actually deemed as important not to get picked up by strange security guards, and usually Sorano had nothing against it. Expect when it was her he was gonna pick up. Henrietta Akaba, the chairwoman of LID and Declan's mother. Sorano was a peoples person. He got along with almost everyone. Besides that woman. He couldn't stand her, and it was mutual. Henrietta disliked everything that could make his son look bad. That was all from terrible business partners to be surrounded in poor environment. Sorano was seen as such by Henrietta of course. Even though Sorano was from the rich class in some way, his family was not quite wealthy enough to even to be considered a companion to Declan, let alone a dear friend. Something she pointed out regularly along with that she was Declan's true second in charge. At least when she was around . Right now that woman was of course in the limo with him and they were both glaring at each other with cold eyes.

"I see you are still here at the LID. To think that You of all people were coming to pick me up at the airport. What a disgrace" Henrietta then uttered and snort in a cold tone. Sorano kept his eye contact with her though.

"Don't think I am thrilled about this at all Madam" Sorano replied just as coldly "I am just following your sons orders". Henrietta snort once again.

"What is my son thinking? To hang around with such a rack ruff like you" she then said "You have no wealth in our society, have terrible manors and don't even let me get started on how you look. I just knew Declan had to be homeschooled when he was a child. Then he wouldn't have met a guy like you. The only thing I can't seem to complain about is your dueling skills".

"Thank you I guess..." Sorano hissed out and crossed his arm over his chest.

If Henrietta had been any other woman, Sorano would have said a thing or two back to her, but considered her status, Sorano just couldn't. Something Henrietta of course knew. She loved to pick on him. All so he would quit this job. Sorano was however not gonna go down that easily. He was not gonna let her win.

"But even that we might not need any longer" Henrietta then said and smirked evilly "As the institute of ours are spreading across the globe, my son can find duelists with far better skills than yours, which means he might find some more suited friends to hang out with compared to You. So if I were you, I would hang on to that job of yours. You soon might not have it".

Sorano gritted his teeth in annoyance. Here was the known sentence Henrietta was known for telling him. She was trying to get under his skin and make him doubt on himself. So much in fact that he would quit and thereby get out of her son's life for good. Good thing Sorano wasn't easy to intimidate. Especially since he actually did have a trump to play.

"Oh well I am sad to hear that madam" he replied and send her a devious smile "But maybe you should reconsider your options, regarding this job. After all you will be short staffed when you have to deal with this new kind of problem that have happened here at LID while you were gone. Just thought you should know".
