Day 8.

8) ride in a hot air balloon.

I walked into the hospital holding the McDonalds in my hands. I walked into Alexa's room and she sat up immediately.

"Yes! Thanks Calum!" She exclaimed. I smiled and passed it to her. She ripped it open before eating it happily.

"It's ok." I replied, she passed me my burger and chips before I pulled out my phone.

"So at 3, we're going on a hot air balloon." I told her, she smiled and began bouncing up and down.

"Calum, I'll never be able to thank you enough!" She exclaimed.

"It's OK." I smiled. I pulled her into a hug.

"Miss Richards, you may leave now, remember to eat and drink frequently." The doctor told her before she jumped up, pulled on her shoes and walked out.

I followed behind her quickly and called a cab for us. She hopped in and we drove to the hot air balloon place.

People were setting it up so we decided to sit in the shade and chat.

"Why'd you pick me? There were plenty of other people in that room, why me?" She quietly asked.

"Because, you just acted so different to everybody else, they were all glum and sad, you were bright. You had everything you wanted to do down and ready. I just wanted to make it a reality." I admitted and she finished her McDonalds.

"Are you Mr Hood?" Some small man in here's early 40's said.

"Yeah." I replied.

"Your turn is up." He smiled, I nodded and helped Alexa up, I wrapped my arm around her waist.

We walked over and went in, slowly the balloon lifted from the ground. Alexa hung off the edge smiling as the people got smaller and she giggled.

"They look like ants!" She exclaimed. I nodded and began taking pictures.

"I know, it's so cool right?" I asked, she nodded and smiled at me.

"Seriously Calum, I'll never be able to thank you enough." She smiled pulling me into a hug.

"You've told me this and I've told you a million times, it's fine! I love this, it's amazing." I replied she nodded and watched the scenery as it flew by.

"It's so pretty!" She grinned, I nodded and smiled.

I had the overwhelming temptation to kiss her but I fought it. I don't want her to freak out on me.

It wasn't long before it was over. She had a permanent smile on her face.

We arrived at our hotel and she was all hyper and bubbly. I changed and laid down in bed. She crawled on me and I looked at her weirdly.

"Calum, you mean so much to me right now, I just want to say, when I die, you won't forget me will you?" She asked, her eyes had slight tears.

"Forget you? How could I do that, you have made such an impact on my life. I could never forget you." I replied running my hand through her hair.

"Good because you've made my life worth living."
