Hi! I'm Elizabeth Winters. You know what the best part of August is? Well, of course the hot weather, but the other best part of August is definitely back to school shopping! Yeah, yeah, call it lame. But I like to call it preparation and optimism. But each to their own I guess. Anyway, I'm really excited for the first day of school. I love the excitement of new teachers, new school supplies, a new year! Now that all of that positivity is done with, I am also really nervous.
I'm nervous because grade nine means new teachers, new classes, longer classes, and all the more opportunity to be late for class. And being late for class is NOT how I would like to start highschool. Even though I am staying in the same school, the middle school hallway was only a small part of the school. But the high school wing is basically the entire school! And you can have one class on one side of the school, and the next class on the other! And as I've said before, I'm not trying to be late!
So it is currently August 26th, 2018, and I am counting down the days to back to school!! I'm so excited to see my friends Natalie, Fiona and Victoria. So far, 9 days until school starts! So I better enjoy the wonderful summer!
I decided to text Natalie, Fiona and Victoria. "Hi! Do you guys want to walk to McDonald's today? It's a really nice day for wonderfully unhealthy food." I joked, because I LOVE McDonald's so much. That's one thing Charlotte and I (Charlotte is my sister) have in common.
Victoria and Natalie answered right away.
"Yeah!! Gotta love those Big Macs!", Victoria replied. She loves McDonald's almost as much as I do.
"Sure, how far is it?", Natalie asks.
"Only about a 20 minutes walk", I reply.
"Ok.", Natalie sends, satisfied.
Fiona then answered.
"Sorry, I was taking out the garbage. Yeah that sounds so fun! Can't wait! Their veggie wraps are SO good.", Fiona texts with multiple emojis, because I think that the veggie wraps at McDonald's are her favourite thing on planet Earth. She's a vegetarian, so she tried the veggie wraps one day and fell in love.
Soon enough, we were walking to McDonald's. We had a blast, had our Big Macs and veggie wraps, had some ice cream, and we enjoyed our day. We have to enjoy the last days of summer we have anyway!
So eventually, we made our way home. The day went on. I played with my dog, Lily, and hung out with my cat, Allie.
Then we ate supper, it was mac n cheese, and when the evening went on, it was eventually time to go to sleep. I lay in my bed, and I thought, It is almost the beginning of the end of summer. Does that even make sense? Sure. I think as I drift off to sleep.

8 days later, it's the day before the first day of school! I'm so excited! My sister, Charlotte is NOT excited. So whenever I talk about how school is coming, she gets all annoyed. Oh well! Tomorrow is the first day of school!
I text Natalie on Wattpad, and I tell her how tomorrow is the first day of school. She is somehow less excited than my sister! That day, we had gotten folders for school in our google drive to tell us our teachers and classes. It always comes the day before school. So I texted Natalie to ask her if we had the same classes:
Me: Are you excited for the first day of school tomorrow?!! ;D
Nat: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO DON'T DO THAT TO ME!!!!!!!!!!
I AM SO NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT!!!!! :'(
Me: Lol XD What are your teachers???!!!!
Nat: Geography 2: Ms. Myers
Math 3: Mr. Norris
Gym 1: Ms. Brown
Music 2: Mr. Taylor
Science 3: Mr. Oakshire
French 1: Ms. Green
English 1: Mr. Peterson
Religion 3: Ms. Rose
Me: Oh cool!! These are mine:
Geography 1: Ms. Mills
Math 4: Mr. Norris
Gym 1: Ms. Brown
Visual Arts 1: Ms. Miles
Science 3: Mr. Oakshire
French 1: Ms. Glorée
English 1: Mr. Peterson
Religion 3: Ms. Rose
Nat: So we have French, religion, English, gym and science together!
Me: YAYYYYYYYYY!!!But we might not have all of those classes this semester.
Nat: True- but that's okay!
Me: I have no idea what to wear tomorrow haha ^~^
Nat: Me neither. Lol XD Ahh I gotta go- moms calling me
Me: Okay- see u tomorrow!
Nat: At school! :(
Me: lol bye!
