"Matt... What is this?!" I demanded, forgetting that my mom and sister were watching. I was seeing red. It was all I could do NOT to flip the table of presents over and storm out.
"Lils, it's not what it looks like..." Matt said, placing a hand on my arm. I shook it off. "Lily, please!! Listen to me!"
"NO!" I yelled, jumping up from my seat, sending clothes flying. My mom jumped back in her seat. Sarah ran to hide behind the couch. "No, I won't listen!!"
"Lily please!!" Matt pleaded, standing up and grabbing my shoulders, turning me to face him. His pale blue eyes were begging me to listen through his jet black hair that hung just so... I vaguely recognized that we matched. shaking this thought off, I stared into his eyes. How could he?! And it wasn't JUST a kiss!! THEY WERE SHIRTLESS!!!! What the hell?!
I threw the phone across the room and ran into my bedroom, nearly tripping over the heels. Locking the door behind me, I threw myself on the bed, sobbing. After about a minute, I heard a knock on the door.
"Lily?" I heard Matt say quietly. "Lily please let me in... Please..."
"No!" I yelled, my voice cracking. "I don't want to talk to you right now!! Go away!"
"Sissy?" I heard Sarah's little voice through the door. "Sissy why are you crying?"
I sniffed and walked over to the door and opened it. Sarah was in Matt's arms, looking worried. I looked Matt in the eye, still crying. He gave me another pleading look. I took Sarah from him and waved him in, going to sit on the bed. Sarah wiggled in my lap.
"Lily, that's not me." Matt said, sitting in a chair next to the bed.
"What do you mean, that isn't you?!" If Sarah wasn't here, I'd be screaming profanities at him. She snuggled her face into my chest and I held her close. "You are in that picture, making out with Kaylee!! I saw it with my own eyes!!"
"Look closely." He said holding out my phone. I scoffed at it.
"I've already seen it once, Matthew!!" I yelled, pushing the phone away. Sarah whimpered and I immediately lowered my voice. "I don't want to see it again."
"Lily please... Look right here." He was tapping the screen. I forced myself to look. He was pointing to his eyebrow in the picture. "Now look right here." he moved his hand to his own eyebrow. "See the difference?"
Matt has this scar that runs through his eyebrow. He got it when he was little in a car accident. Picture-Matt had no scar. I scowled and pushed the phone away.
"Matt... I'm sorry." I sighed, putting Sarah down to wrap my arms around his neck. "I'm so, so, SO sorry. I love you. I'm sorry."
"Shh... It's okay..." he murmured, squeezing me around the middle. "There's no need to apologize. I would've flipped too... Shh... I love you."
I felt Sarah tugging on my leg. I laughed weakly and picked her up. "Sarah Sandwich!!" I yelled and hugged her, feeling Matt do the same. I rocked us back and forth, smiling.
"Sissy, you still have presents!!" Sarah exclaimed, her wide eyes twinkling.
"I'll be there in a minute Sar..." I smiled. "I wanna be a new person again."
"Otay." She said simply and toddled off. I stared at Matt's scar for a minute before slapping my knee and standing up.
"So... Who should I be now?" I grinned, trying to block out the image of Kaylee and Matt kissing. It wasn't exactly easy... Even if it wasn't ACTUALLY Matt and Kaylee... "I was thinking... Hippie.
"Perfect!" Matt said. "Like, flowy, paisley, 'make love not war' hippie, or the tie-dye, bell bottom, Wood Stock hippie?" He was smirking. Gahh I love that smirk.
"Wood Stock hippie!!" I said, smacking his arm playfully. "Is that even a real question?! Come on, Matt!! Get it together!! Gahhhhsh!!"
He laughed. "Sorry, sorry." He said, still laughing. He stood up and walked over to me. "No matter what, you'll always be my hippie."
"Good!" I giggles, feeling a blush creep up my cheeks. He put his hands on my hips and pulled me closer, placing a gentle kiss on my lips. I kissed hi back, smiling and wrapping my arms around his neck.I pulled back and giggled when I saw that my hot pink lipstick had transferred over to his lips. He looked hilarious.
"What?" he asked, looking concerned. "Is there something on my face??"
"Actually, yes." I said, wiping the lip stick from his lips with my thumb. I held it up and he grimaced.
"Nooo! Not pink!!" He said dramatically, pressing a hand to his lips. "Ohhhh the horror!!"
"You're such a dork." I giggled. He pouted in response. I laughed, pulling him closer. "But you're my dork."
"The dork and the hippie..." He trailed off, pretending to think. I giggled again. "I like it.
"Me too." I grinned. "Now, get out so I can change!!"
He groaned and reluctantly left the room as I walked over to my closet to show I was being serious.
I pulled off the whore-ish clothes and dressed in a rainbow swirl-dyed shirt, pale blue bell bottom jeans, and a tan leather vest that had fringes on it. I laughed at how stereotypical I was being. I walked over to my mirror, feeling more like myself than before.
"Eugh!" I groaned at my reflection. My eyeliner and mascara had gone EVERYWHERE. I quickly cleaned it off with a baby wipe. Taking my wig off, I laughed at my bald self in the mirror...
Not wanting to waste any time, I threw on a long, almost-down-to-my-butt, light brown, wavy wig and brushed it into place. I took a small piece on the left ans braided it, securing it with an almost invisible tan rubber band. I smiled.
After removing the coloured contacts, I put some light brown eye shadow just on my lids. I lined my water line with white eyeliner in an attempt to make my eyes look bigger. I swept on a bit of brown mascara and that was it for the eyes.
I didn't bother with foundation. Hey, I'm a hippie. The less make up the better. Keeping that in mind, I chose a matte pale pink lipstick and blush. Quite pleased with the way I looked, I smiled widely.
I didn't even bother with shoes... I just walked back into the living room, barefoot. I got a nice response from my family and Matt. I went back to opening presents, smiling. But I wasn't smiling on the inside. I couldn't block the image of Matt and Kaylee from my mind...
