Regardless of everything that happened, Yoongi chose to remain by Sana's side. He was considerate about her feelings and went out of his way to cheer her up. Thus, as weeks turned to months, the bond between them grew deeper. Despite having different personalities, their life view and priorities were surprisingly compatible.
'I should end this as soon as possible...'
It was probably the right solution, but Sana did not have the heart to do so. She truly wanted to enjoy her time with Yoongi while it lasted. Yet at the same time, Sana knew she wouldn't be able to establish an honest relationship while keeping the truth about her pregnancy from him. Although she tried to act like was fine, guilt actually weighed heavily on her conscience. There were several times when Sana was tempted to tell him everything, yet the thought of seeing Yoongi's caring gaze turning into one filled with hatred prevented those words from coming out of her mouth.
- "Are you free this Saturday?"
They were having dinner together when Yoongi suddenly asked.
- "Yes. Why?"
- "I want you to come with me to visit someone."
Her heart immediately skipped a beat at the suggestion.
- "Mind I ask... whom?"
- "...My father."
Sana froze. From her trusty source, she knew...
- "His grave, I mean." - Despite Yoongi's nonchalant appearance, Sana could feel how sentimental this whole story actually was for him. - "He passed away when I was young."
A storm of emotion hit Sana so hard that she felt her eyes heated up. Even though she already knew about his situation, the fact that Yoongi himself wanted to share such a intimate part of his past with her spoke volumes about how much trust he actually had in Sana yet here she was, betraying it for her own selfish desire.
Regret, love, guilt... the overwhelming bittersweet sentiment finally pushed Sana over the edge.
- "Yoongi, th...there's something I need to tell you."
