Yuuki’s POV:
Zero? He’s acting strangely. I think about what just happened. Zero! I run to go look for him.
Zero’s POV:
“Punish me for my sins Zero. Pull the trigger.” Maria says. I try to pull the trigger but I can’t my finger won’t move. What’s wrong with me? My hand shakes. “Why are you surprised…that you can’t do it?” She says. She puts her hands to my face and leans in like she’s going to kiss me. “Poor…boy…” She says her lips almost to mine. “Don’t touch me!” I say trying to pull away but I can’t. “I’ll tell you the truth. You can’t kill me.” Maria says. No not Maria…it’s that woman. “I’m your master. I gave you this new life as a vampire. You are my servant. You can’t kill me…” She says moving to my neck. I yank away from her and point the Bloody Rose at her. My hand is still shaky. “You are the first one who hasn’t yielded to me yet. Good boy… You make me happy. You knew it was I, Zero…even though I look different now. You knew it was I who took your life as a human.” That woman says. ‘Yes. I can never forget…Shizuka Hio. That day your face was covered in our blood.” I say disgusted.
Yuuki’s POV:
I found Zero with Maria. Maria is the one who sent Zero into darkness…Zero wants revenge. ‘This body isn’t mine…so please treat it with care.” Maria says pointing to her chest.
Zero’s POV:
I look up and a masked servant drops a sword. Shizuka spins around and grabs it. She makes her move and swings it at me. I block it with my Bloody Rose. “Zero--!” I hear Yuuki yell. I look behind me trying to see her. “Don’t you dare look away!!!” Maria says swinging the weapon downward cutting the right side of my chest.
Yuuki’s POV:
Someone grabbed my from behind. Who is this…I feel…faint. “I can’t bear to lose you. If he dies here, it would be unfortunate…but he’s expendable.” I hear Kaname say as I pass out in his arms.
Zero’s POV:
My blood trickled to the floor making a puddle of my blood. “A borrowed body is hard to use…too bad you didn’t shoot my heart.” Shizuka says as she grips her bloody waist where I shot her. Her hair fell out of place. “But we will be right back were we started when our wounds heal.” She says. “What?!” I ask suddenly my throat is dry. I stumble and lean forward. My throat…I’m so thirsty… “Uh…” I say clutching my heart. “Bleeding can cause sever hunger. Be careful. A vampire’s true self is quite savage and cruel. Vampire hunters are the same I think.” She says as she walks away. I pass out and fall to the floor.
Maria/Shizuka’s POV:
“Shizuka.” My loyal servant says as I hand him the sword. “I will rest till tomorrow Ichiru.” I tell him walking away.
Yuuki’s POV:
I wake up. How did I get here? Where was I? I got dressed and when to class. I forgot something…Zero…he’s not taking the exams. Why? “Cross...Cross!” Someone says behind me. ‘The class representative wants you.” Yori says. “Class rep?” I ask what does he want now? “I got the exam scores. And our class came in last place! You only wrote your name on the answer sheet! Because of you our class has to work the ball!” The class rep tells me, as his face gets very red. “Oh but Mizuki you did very well. You got 100%!” He says getting happier. “But it’s Cross’s fault if I can’t dance with Ruka! If only Kiriyu had taken the exams!” He says running away. “Yuuki…I know you studied…” Yori says. “Yes…Zero helped me.” I say. Last night…yes what happened to Zero? I suddenly remember. I look around and there was Maria but where was Mizuki? How did I forget?! “Yuuki!” Yori yells after me. “Maria wait!” I yell to Maria who skips to the ballroom. She killed Zero’s family 4 years ago… “Hi Yuuki. The ball will be held in this hall right?” She asks. “Maria! Don’t play innocent!” I say grabbing her arm. “What did you do o him?” I ask her. “He’s fine for now…but sooner or later…he’ll become a level e and won’t listen to you anymore… But I know how to save him. Let’s make a deal. Something only you can do…” She says gripping my face.
Mizuki’s POV:
Zero…?! Where is he? He wasn’t in class. Something bad happened to him! I suddenly go blind and have a vision of Zero lying on the floor bleeding. I have my sight again. Zero he’s hurt! And dying of thirst! I run to where I think he is. Zero it’s ok I’m coming for you!
Zero’s POV:
I awaken still on the floor. I get up quickly. Then stumble forward. I need more blood… Maybe Mizuki…no I can’t do that I love her too much…Yuuki I must find Yuuki…but I like her too. What I can’t love them both. Besides Yuuki loves Kuran. I need blood and fast!
Yuuki’s POV:
“Hey isn’t it curfew already?” A girl asks putting up decorations. “Oh, the 1 years don’t know…we can stay up later to prepare for the ball.” Another says. The girls chat loudly about the ball. “Oops! Can you get that?” A girl asks me from a ladder. She dropped some ribbons. “Sure. Here.” I say handing it to her. Mizuki comes running in. “Zero? Has anyone seen Zero?!” She asks worried. “No…I haven’t seen him since yesterday…” Some girls say. Mizuki runs off to another room. When she left Zero came in the ballroom hall. “Yuuki. Did the new girl come here?” He asks his white shirt was now red from blood. “Zero!” I say surprised. “Hey is that blood? Was he in a fight?” The girls chatter away. Zero opens a door to another room. “She’s not in here.” He says. I come in. ‘Zero? You’re bleeding very badly. What happened?” I ask him. “You were there last night right?” He asks me. “Where?” I ask. “It doesn’t matter. Stay away from her and tell Mizuki too if you see her.” Zero says walking away. I grab his sleeve. “Hey! Are you alright? You are hurt. That’s…” I say. “Let me go.” He says. “No!” I say. “Ok…but…you don’t look alright, Zero. His tattoo is glowing and spreading up his neck. I close the doors. ‘Do what you need to do.” I say pulling my hair back. “Here go ahead don’t spill too much.” I say. Zero pins me to the door. I can hear the girls talk and laugh as Zero drinks my blood. Zero isn’t hesitating like normally…he’s so desperate. He grips my wrist tighter. “Zero…what does my blood taste like?” I ask him. He looks at me his eyes red. He yanks my arm and turns me around. “Why do you want to know?” He says before he bites me again his lips and chin ripping with my blood. Let’s make a deal. If you want me to save Zero…Offer yourself to me…or…give me Kaname Kuran’s dead body as a gift. I remember Maria say to me.
