Vampire Knight (Fan Fiction) Vol. 4 Chapter 19 Spoke in the Wheel

Yuuki’s POV:

He called Zero his older brother. He looks just like Zero too… “How long are you going to play with him? He’s hunting you right?” He asks Shizuka. He asks playing with Mizuki’s red hair. She must have fainted. “I won’t let it happen. I will not have you die Lady Shizuka.” He says moving in front of her. “Hmph. Zero and I have unfinished business. Don’t worry about me. I have no intention of dying here today.” She says leaving the room dripping blood. “Shizuka!” Zero says running after her. Ichiru stops him with a free arm. “It really hurts me that you’d ignore me, Zero. I would like to have a long talk with my twin. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen my other half.” He says. Mizuki starts to wake up. “Wha…what…Zero…?! Ichiru…?! Oh! Zero, Ichiru attacked me! He stabbed my leg and banged me against a wall. Please let me go Ichiru…” Mizuki says still a little lightheaded from losing a lot of blood. She must be thirsty.

Mizuki’s POV:

I stand up and feel a little dizzy. I trip and fall into Zero’s arms. “You two we’re close weren’t you…?” I ask him. I could tell by the look in their eyes. I touch both of their faces tapping into their memories.

Zero’s POV:

I was younger and watched our master leave. Ichiru ran up to me and gave me a big hug. “Zero!” he said. I touched his shoulder. “You have a cold you should be in bed…Ichiru.” I told him worried about his health. “I lied about being sick, Zero. But you already knew that.” Ichiru said head butting me lightly. “You didn’t want to see master leave?” I asked keeping our heads together. “I’m a dropout anyway. I’m no use to him. But I’m ok…I only need your love, Zero.” He told me as I hugged him. He looked up. “Snow?” He asked. “No. Look…the cherry blossoms are blooming out of season…” I said as we looked at the tree. There was a woman standing under it crying. “She’s beautiful…” Ichiru said. “Let’s go. Mother and Father are probably looking for us.” I said pulling his arm. “What is it Zero?” Ichiru asked. “She is a vampire.” I told him. “Oh…I didn’t sense it.” He said. He suddenly hugged me. “Ichiru?” I asked him. “Zero you’re really great…you make up for all the things I lack…” He said. “Ichiru…” I said. Later that night he slept in my bed. “You do have a fever. It’s because you were outside in the cold.” I said feeling his cheek. Mother walked in our room. “He snuck in your bed again. How is he?” She asked me. “He has a fever. If you stay here I’ll go get it.” I said sitting up in my bed. “Don’t leave Zero!” Ichiru said grabbing my sleeve. “It’s ok, Zero. I’ll get it. He really loves you, Zero…” She said as she closed the door. ‘Being so frail like this, I might not be able to become a hunter… Zero, the vampire we saw…will father or mother or another hunter kill it?” He asked me. “Maybe…but if it’s on the list, someone will hunt it.” I told him. “We’re being trained to become a hunter…but will you be able to kill? You are such a nice person.” He told me. “Don’t worry, Ichiru…that’s why master is teaching us…” I said. “You speak like it’s your duty. But you’re only making up for me too.” He said. “No, I’m not…” I said hugging him.

Ichiru’s POV:

I got up from Zero’s bed. “Ichiru…?” He asked. “I’m getting some water I’ll be right back.” I said. As I walked down the stairs I heard mother and father talking about us. “Yes, those 2 Zero and Ichiru…Zero is very talented. He’s amazing. And he will hunt vampires too…but Ichiru…no…he can’t stay with Zero…even thought they are so close. It’ would be the best for Ichiru. There’s nothing we can do about it…we must report this to the society…to tell them Ichiru is unfit to be a vampire hunter…” They said. The window blew open and some cherry blossoms flew in the house. I walked out on to the roof. Then I saw her. She was sitting in our cherry tree. “We meet again.” She said. ‘Why are you crying? Did something happen to you?” I asked her. “And you? Your heart is suffering too?” She asked me.

Zero’s POV:

Later that night our parents woke us up. “Are we moving again?” I asked them. ‘Yes. We don’t want vampires to know were we live.” Mother told us. “Ichiru?” I asked he seemed upset. “Not all vampires are bad. You’re to careful.” He said as he put on his jacket. “You have been acting weird lately.” I said. “Don’t follow me! I’m going out to get some air.” He said as I grabbed his arm. “Ichiru!” I said. “Zero just what am I?” He asked me. I let him go. “Where’s Ichiru?” Father asked me. “He’ll be back.” I said as my parents packed. I sensed something bad. “Zero?” Mother asked me. “A vampire…is baring its fangs…” I said then ran out the door. It was the same one that we saw earlier that day. “You…” I said. ‘You have good senses. You knew I was here before your parents. The twin children of the hunters…it comes all down to your sinful blood.” She said then suddenly she was behind me. “I…will curse your fate.” She said. “Ichiru! Zero!” My parents called after us. “Shizuka…Hio…?” They said. “Hio?” I asked. “What does a pureblood want with us?” They asked her. “You killed him. So now I will punish you.” She said before she bit me. “No!!” They screamed. Then she killed them. I couldn’t stand and fell to the floor. I saw Ichiru at the door. “Ichiru…run…run away…” I tried to say. “If you hurt Ichiru…I will kill you!” I said.

Ichiru’s POV:

“Do you know what I thought then…Zero?” I ask him as that girl clings to him. She must really love him. And must want his blood too… “Ichiru…” He says. “You don’t want to know? I see…maybe you have always known. What had grown inside my heart…was pitch black darkness.” I tell him as Mizuki’s eyes turn a deep red.

Shizuka’s POV:

I walk into my room and see Kaname. “You’re bleeding vey badly. A vampire hunter’s weapon can be very dangerous…even to a pureblood. Your healing powers are weakened. ” He tells me. “Son of Kuran…why did you come here?” I ask him. “This was the first room I lived in at this school.” He says. “Really well I like it. There’s no one to bother me.” I say. “Yes…I know…” He says. “Let me ask it in a different way. Why did you come to this school?” I ask. “To repay a favor. It’s also the perfect place to assemble my pieces. We probably have the same plan in mind…Shizuka.” He whispers in my ear. Suddenly he pierces my chest with his hand. “I’m like you. I’ll do almost anything…for the one I love…” He says.
