47. We Meet Again

"H-How did you find us?"

Daniel stood awkwardly outside the door, hands shoved into pockets, rocking back lightly on his heels.

"I was kinda hoping for a little more of a happy reaction," his face twisted up into that same half smirk, only it was a bit softer than it was back then. 

I involuntarily shuddered at the thought of back then. I couldn't force myself to smile even if I tried. 

I didn't say anything, letting the charged air flow between us as we only continued to stare at each other, taking in the physical changes the other has gone through in the past year.

Daniel stood pretty much the same tall built figure, only his hair was no longer pitch black. It's now a lighter shade of chocolate brown, bringing much more warmth to his handsome face, almost a more cute boyish appearance versus sexy Dracula of the night.

I eyed him up and down once more before sighing, deciding that I might was well let him inside considering he was already standing here and there was no going back since I opened the door.

'I still haven't fixed the whole opening doors for strangers problem... '

"You can come in. But make it quick," I turned around with a very obvious hint of irritation, speeding off into the kitchen to grab some beverages.

"When you both moved I figured you would have left the country or something," Daniel said casually, walking in to lean against the counter.

"I like the beach," was my curt reply.

We moved only a little bit down the road from Jin. I used to live in this town when I was little anyways. I knew I would want to come back after I had graduated, and somehow the stars aligned. I'm closer to my best friend again, have the most amazing partner I could have ever dreamed of, and I get to hear the ocean outside my window when I wake up and go to sleep every day.
