Chapter 9- A Shady Nightmare

"We have to evacuate! Everyone get out! Get out, now!"

Nate froze as he heard the words. Evacuate? Suddenly, it registered in his brain. Like a bomb going off. No, that WAS a bomb going off. Orlando was under attack! Nate scrambled to his feet and ran for the door. As he got outside, he saw Cinderella's Castle crumbling. He couldn't believe it. It was so surreal. But, it was actually happening. Once Nate was able to pull his eyes away from the terrifying destruction that was once the happiest place on earth, he began to run. He had to find his friends. His family. Someone he knew. Anyone.

"Callum?" he called out. "Eriel!"

Severed limbs landed around him. People were screaming and running. There were soldiers guiding the people towards the airport. One by one, the survivors were loaded onto planes. Once a plane was full, it took off. Finally, Nate was loaded onto his plane. He sat down and stared at the sight around him. The woman screaming for her child. The man who's leg had been blown off. Some of them had watched friends and family die. Nate didn't even know if his friends and family were okay. He'd left his phone behind when he ran, so he had no way of contacting them. Of course, if they'd gotten out, they probably didn't have their phones, either, so calling or texting them wouldn't be of any use. Nate sat frozen in fear and shock as he heard a faint voice calling him.

"Nate?" said the female voice.

Was Nate dead? Was that an angel calling him? Nate didn't know. All he could do was stare. The voice kept coming. Each time, it became more and more panicked. But Nate couldn't pinpoint who it was coming from.

"Nate, please! Wake up, Nate!" came the voice again.

Wake up. Wake up from what? The nightmare around him? Wait, that was it! A nightmare! None of this was real. It was just a nightmare! Nate closed his eyes tight. When he opened them, Morgan was sitting over him, crying. She hugged him, clearly scared and worried about him. Nate just hugged her back, also crying.

"I'm... I'm safe," he whispered to himself.

Morgan grabbed the little Mr. Drippy toy she'd bought for Nate and gave it to him.

"You're safe," she promised. "I'm here. Eriel's here. And, even though you two are fighting, I know Hunter's here. We're all here for you."

"Eriel," Nate whispered. "He's safe, too. Callum, though. Did my Hoodlum make it out? Is he safe, too?"

Morgan cocked her head.

"Hoodlum?" she asked.

Nate nodded.

"Hoodlum is his nickname," he explained.

"There's a youtuber named Hoodlum Scrafty, and his real name is Callum."

Morgan pulled up a video of Hoodlum Scrafty, and Nate began to cry happily.

"It's him! I'd know that voice anywhere!"

Callum was safe. He was alive. And Nate had found him.
