I wake up with an uneasy feeling in my stomach, I'm already dreading talking to my parents. I turn to my right to see my window's curtains pulled open, and the sunlight pouring into my room.
I walk to my window with numb legs and close my curtains, squinting the whole time because everyone knows the sun is not something you want to see when you first wake up. Just as I'm walking out of the washroom from changing clothes my mom walks in. "Good your up, I was just coming in to tell you, your father and I will be away for a few days. I'm sorry it's such short notice but we need some things."
" It's okay mom, I love you guys, be safe." I gave her a quick hug, before running down to my dad to say goodbye.
As they pull out of the driveway I remembered that I was supposed to talk to them. I sigh loudly and began to walk to the fridge, I'm starving. I grab some eggs and bacon that I'm going to cook for Seth and I; I wonder how long it's been since he ate.
As I finish up cooking I hear another strangled sob come from the basement, I walk to the basement door with our two plates of food; then realize that Seth is most likely getting tired of sitting in the same room for days on end. So I turn around and place our food at the table and walk to the door again. As I open the door and step on the first step I hear yet another mangled scream of pain and wince from the immediate pain that I feel for him.
Starting to walk down the stairs quicker than before, I feel my toe hit something that is sticking out of the step; I scream in fear and pain as I tumble down the stairs. As soon as I hit the bottom my head flares with pain and all I see is black.

As I start to get feeling in my body I immediately whimper in pain, as I open my eyes it takes a moment for my eyes to adjust to the darkness and as soon as they do I see Seth hunched over me with a worried expression on his face.
"What's going on?" I ask confused. Seth sighs in relief and opens his mouth to speak. "You fell down the stairs and hit your head pretty hard. How are you feeling?"
"Probably as bad as I'm looking honestly," I tell him, my words filled with humor. With that, he smirks "well then you must be feeling just fine."I blush at his words and sit up, groaning in the process from the sudden surge of pain in my head and back. "I'm not feeling too well, I have a really bad headache and my back hurts," I tell him with a grimace
"I think you could have a concussion, I hope not but if so it won't be too bad," Seth says worriedly, I shake my head confused as to what had happened. "How long have I been down for?" I look up to meet his worried gaze.
"It's been about twenty minutes, can you stand up?" I sigh with relief, glad I wasn't asleep for that long. "I should be able too, I made breakfast if you want to come up and eat with me?"
I ask hopefully, wanting him to have as much freedom as you could have in this house, while my parents are gone. He grins at my offer before nodding his head furiously. "I would love to go it breakfast with you, I've been down here for so long; I'm surprised they're letting me walk around down here now." He says with relief mixed in his words.
"We'll come on then let's go eat!" I say trying to help get the mood brought back up. We start climbing the stairs, me walking slower from my limp I got from falling. Once we make it to the kitchen I grab both plates and place one in the microwave, then the second one after the first one is done. I walk back towards the table, I hand him a plate then sit down with my own, he smiles at the food adoringly like he hasn't eaten in forever. Seth grabs a piece of bacon then raises it to his mouth, chewing slowly while letting out a moan.
"Is it good?" I chuckle out from his delighted sounds he makes towards the food. "It is amazing!" He groans out, I laugh again as he starts scarfing down the food I made.
By the time he's done eating I'm not even halfway there, I quickly pick up my pace so I can give him a tour of the house once I'm done. Once I take the last bite I grab both our plates and bring them to the sink. "If you want I'll give you a tour of the house so we have something to do." I offer trying to make my voice sound as positive as possible.
He looks at me confused for a minute before nodding his head slowly. I start to stand from my seat when he calls my name. "London?" I stop and turn to face him, looking at him questioningly. "Yes?" "I like you, you seem to be a very good person."
"Thank you, that means a lot."I help him stand then we begin the tour, I fist show him the living room since it's right next to the kitchen. Then we move towards the hallway which is next to the stairs, from there I show him the restroom and the facility room. After that, we move upstairs to my room.
"And this is the room of yours truly," I say with a smile plastered to my face. I turn to see Seth smiling down at me, which had caused me to blush. "It's a nice room I like how homey it is," he said fondly.
"Thank you" I reply then drop my voice to a quiet hum " I have something serious to show you, you can't tell my parents." He nods his head as a way of agreeing. I slowly walk to the foot of my bed where the trap door is; then I peel the carpet away. I take him down the ladder and show him the bodies.
Seth quickly turns around and runs back to the ladder and crawls back to my room. As I crawl up the ladder I spot Seth in the bathroom bent over the toilet vomiting.
I walk up to him and soothingly rub his back in a way I hope comforts him. As Seth slowly lifts himself back up he smiles at me reassuringly. "I'm sorry, I'm just not used to seeing a bunch of dead people." He smiles again, his smile makes him look like he is uncomfortable.
Then I hear it, the unmistakable sound of my parents' car. "Oh my god, hurry we have to put you back in the basement my parents are back," I say that so quickly I don't think he understood; but he followed anyway.
As we near the basement door the car engine shuts off, so we are in an even bigger hurry. I open my mouth to tell Seth to hurry but as I start to talk he cuts me off. "I got it from here, you just go to your room." Seth smiles coolly at me then heads down the stairs; as I'm halfway up the stairs my parents walk in.
I just acted like I was coming down from my room to see them. "I thought you guys would be gone longer, what happened?"
As my mom opens her mouth to speak there was a distinct squeak that came from the kitchen that made my heart drop. The basement door slowly opens to my complete horror.
