Always with you

Chapter 6

Helena, April 2018.

It was early April and I was in my room in my native Scotland. I was planning the final details for my trip to Monaco for Sascha's birthday. I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I did not feel when my father entered my room.

All good honey? - my father asked me

Yes, I have everything ready for Monaco - I said excited

Well, I hope you don't forget your medical appointment at 5- He told me

No, I don't forget, are you going to come with me? Mom canceled this morning- I said a little discouraged

Judy didn't say anything to me - he said trying to hide the annoyance in his voice

Yes, she doesn't say much, she is not even in the city, she went to London to a compromise- I said with annoyance

It doesn't matter I'll go with you, just let me make some calls and we'll go to the hospital.-

Dad, if you're busy, I can go alone, I'm used to it, it's not something new for me.-

I will go with you and it is the end of this conversation, we left in 30 minutes- He said going out the door.

That was my father, the most loving and caring man for his children of the world. When my parents divorced, my brothers and I stayed with my father, he was always involved in our lives and always gave us all his time even when he did not have it, on the other hand my mother, well, she has always been busy, tennis is her life and her life is tennis. It is not that she does not love me or my brothers, I know that she does it in some way, only that she is usually more distant and cold in certain situations, like everything that has to do with me and my health. Since I was little I had health problems, I had a really bad time.  There was a time in my childhood when I lived in the hospital and could go days without seeing my mother. My father used to tell me that she visited me while I slept because she said that I radiated peace and liked to take care of my dreams. Now, I'm not so sure how true that was, but anyway, I finished saving my documents in my bag and left the house, my dad was waiting for me in the car.

Helena, we're almost done, we just want to do a final study just to make sure everything is in order.- the doctor told me

Okay- I replied

Helena, this test will be painful, we are going to put anesthesia on you but still it hurts - explained the doctor

Okey- I answered again, this time, with some fear

After listening to the doctor's voice, something inside of me knew something was wrong.
