          ❝STILL NO WORD FROM STARK?

"No, not yet." Maria Hill shook her head, glancing at Nick Fury before looking at Holly O'Neil in the back seat, watching as she rapidly typed away on her phone. "We're watching every satellite on both hemispheres, but still nothing."

The tablet in her lap beeped. Nick didn't look over. "What is it?"

Maria tapped at her tablet. "Multiple bogies. Over Wakanda."

"Same energy stirs from New York?" Nick wondered.

"Ten times bigger." Maria corrected.

Nick looked over at her. "Tell Klein we'll meet him at—"

"Nick!" Maria suddenly shouted as a car skidded in front of them. "Nick!"

He slammed on the breaks, making everyone fly forward. Holly's face slammed into the seat in front of her. She screamed, squeezing her eyes shut. "Ow! God damn it!"

Holly grunted angrily as they all exited the car. Maria moved forward, peaking in the car to see it empty.

"They okay?" Nick wondered.

"There's no one here." Maria replied in disbelief. Nick and Holly turned and watched as a helicopter spiralled from the air, crashing into a nearby building.

Civilians around them started to scream, running for their lives.

"Call control. Code red." Nick said with a wide eye, unable to take his eye off the scene.

Holly pulled out her phone again, tapping rapidly before pressing it to her ear. When she heard the call go to voicemail, she growled, harshly pressing the end call button.

"Nick,"

The two turned to watch as Maria suddenly turn into ash.

"Hill!" Nick exclaimed. Nick walked backward before rushing to the backseat of the car, digging in a duffle bag and pulling out a pager. He pressed the button before watching as his hand starting to dissolve. "Aw, no."

He glanced back at Holly, seeing her with wide eyes, horrified. "Motherfu—"

Nick dropped the device as he disappeared into the breeze. Holly slowly walked forward, picking it up and staring at the rectangular screen.

It flashed a star before half of the screen was red and the other blue.

She swallowed dryly as she gripped the pager tightly in her hand. Many people vanished by the second before her, scaring her.

"C'mon, Carol!" she hissed to herself, shaking the device slightly. "Please, pick up!"
