Once we finished up our food we headed back to our room and got ready for bed, we only had one bathroom for 12 people, so you can just imagine how that went. I started getting comfortable under the blankets and Wyatt laid down next to me. The room was pretty hectic, Jaeden and Lilia were on the terrace talking and Finn seemed alright, surprisingly enough, he was just talking with Jack and Sadie, looking pretty happy.
"Hey Soph, I'll sleep on that bed if you want." Maddie spoke up, for some odd reason the room fell silent. I sat up, "O-oh no it's okay, thanks though." I felt my body heat up. "Oh no, I insist."
"No, Maddie I swear I'm fine."
"Well, I was just looking out for you, we wouldn't want you doing anything with Wyatt, if you know what I mean." She said, a evil smirk plastered on her face.
"E-excuse me?" I stuttered in disbelief. "Maddie that's enough" Wyatt spoke up. Maddie rolled her eyes and walked out the room, Lilia ran after her. As Maddie walked out Millie sneakily flipped her off and she shut the door.
"What the hell is her problem?" Jack asked walking up to me. I stood there frozen.
"I need a minute." I felt hot tears in my eyes but I just wiped them away I walked out of that room so fast and headed anywhere.
"Can I have a sweet tea? Yes, put it on the room tab please, thank you." I told the waitress of the hotel café.
I scrolled through my Instagram hoping to see something that would cheer me up, no luck. As I was getting my tea, my phone dinged, message from Wyatt.

Even though my emotions were at an all time high, I still managed to smile at the text. Wyatt was at the Café in 2 minutes.
"Hey"

"Are you okay Soph?" he asked with a look in his eye. I shrugged looking down at my hands. "Is that really how Maddie sees me?" I asked with a break in my voice. "Hey." He said putting his hand on mine. "She likes you Wy, she'll do anything to get with you." I said feeling tears build up. "I like you though, not her. When I kissed her-" He said with a pause. "That night, I didn't feel anything." he continued. I looked up at him. "I don't like her, I love you." he added the last part softly. My eyes lit up and I felt my face turn red. Were we too young? Was this too fast? Without thinking,
"I love you too, Wyatt." I said.
He looked up at me surprised, but eventually he started smiling from ear to ear.
"Let's go far a walk." He stands up and extends his hand, I grab onto his hand and we walk out of the hotel.
*Back at the hotel room*
The room was clearly tense and it was obviously divided. 6 on one side and 3 on the other. I was surprised Jaeden was sitting with Lilia and Maddie, he had none Sophia longer and they had kissed. Though he was obviously blinded by his crush on Lilia. I scoffed at Jaeden but he was too distracted.
"I can't believe she fucking said that to Sophia, I thought she was a nice person." Millie said, her arms folded. "She has to have a crush on Wyatt, she just has to." Jack whispered, clearly uneasy about the whole situation. "I just hope Sophia didn't take it too harsh." Chosen said tapping his foot. "What the fuck is up with Jaeden?" I asked looking over at him and Lilia. "Finn, he's being an ass because he's in love with Lilia, It's so clear, I can't believe he would do Soph so dirty." Millie said adding the last part with emphasis so he could hear.
He did hear because he looked over at us, I couldn't make out the expression on his face, was it sadness? Guilt?
"Guys all we have to do is stick by Sophia and enjoy San Francisco, and make sure Maddie doesn't try to do any flirting." Sadie spoke up. We all agreed and started doing our own thing.
*Sophia and Wyatt*
"And that's how I realized I'm afraid of rollercoasters" I said between laughs. Wyatt and I were laying on the grass in a park near the hotel, it was 12am but it felt like the beginning of the night. We fell silent for a moment. He turned on his side to face me, "You're so beautiful." he said out of the blue. I was caught by surprise. "O-oh t-thanks." I stuttered and felt my face heat up. I gave him a small peck and went back to my position. I looked at my phone and saw a million messages from the groupchat.

Mills: Where the frick are you guys???

I still wasn't getting a response. I was left on read for like 5 minutes until Millie decided to answer.
Mills: he's been with Maddie and Lilia, we think he's siding with them.
My heart dropped out of my chest. Jaeden and I had been through so much together, him doing this was the ultimate backstab.
Wyatt and I made it to the hotel lobby and stepped in the elevator.
"Sooo, fun night." He said
"Yeppp." I replied awkwardly.
We were silent for about 30 seconds, we were about to get to our floor when Wyatt got closer to me.
He went in for a kiss, it wasn't a peck or a soft brush. It was a real kiss, I haven't ever had a REAL kiss before. It was like those in the quirky romantic comedy kind of kisses, it was as if I could hear fireworks. He pulled away and looked for a response on my face, I smiled so wide and I couldn't help myself. I put my hands on the side of his head and did the cliché thing, I kissed him right back, maybe even better. The butterflies in my stomach exploded, Wyatt was mine and I still couldn't believe it. It was as if this moment was validation for something. At that moment I wasn't worried about anything else, not Maddie, Jaeden, or Lilia could get between my happiness at that moment.
We were interrupted by the elevator doors opening and an elderly couple standing in front of us giving us disapproving looks. We awkwardly smiled at them and stepped out of the elevator. Once we were in the hallway we shared a smile and decided to head back to the room.
Worst night ever turned into the best night ever.
