I desperately clung to Casper's hand, even as Yuna let go of my other hand, I held onto him.

The maelstrom around us abruptly stopped. My legs bucked and took me to the ground, where I landed in something wet and cold.

My body ached, an aftermath of the magic I was sure, down to my very bones. Caspar and I had landed almost on top of each other, a tangle of legs and arms and elbows and knees.

"Rose, are you all right?"

I took deep, calming breaths, "Yes... I'm, I'm fine."

Snow was falling, dancing patterns in the wind until they gathered on the ground. There was light from the sun, but it was dimmed by the gray clouds giving the snow.

Where were we? What happened?

"How did this happen?" I asked Caspar, who pushed himself off of me and sat up. He offered a hand to help me up, brows serious.

"Someone corrupted the traveling spell." He answered, "I'm not sure how, but we would've been killed if we had stayed together."

A sinking feeling landed hard in my stomach. Yuna, Simon, Lily, Evander, we had no idea where any of them were or if they were all right.

I brushed the wet snow off of my dress, then began to look around, "Where are we?"

We stood in some sort of courtyard, but the only thing that was in it was a fountain made of silver, the water frozen in its basin. All around us were walls that reflected our pales faces back at us.

Caspar had a dark look on his face, "The Palace of Silver and Glass. Morgana's fortress."

I swallowed hard. Her territory.

"The guards will be here soon," He continued, "we'll never be able to fight them off or get away."

He suddenly faced me, an intense look consuming his face, "Rose, I have an idea. But you have to trust me."

"Of course."

"No," he held onto my upper arms, shaking me urgently, "Rose, you have to trust me completely. Whatever I do, you must trust me."

Something in his eyes spoke to me. I slowly nodded my head. I was putting my life into his hands.

And I wasn't afraid.

From an unseen doorway in the courtyard, countless guards poured in, dressed in silver armor that was foreign to me with swords drawn. They quickly surrounded us on all sides.
