Sam sat beside Deans bed reading a lore book. He was growing more and more frustrated with not finding anything and eventually threw the book across the room. Hanging his head in his hands he felt dread and hopelessness start to take over. Suddenly, he heard a gasp and looked up to see Dean sitting up in his bed. His face had its normal color and he wasn't sweating anymore. Sam stood up and looked down at his brother, "Dean?"
Dean looked up and grinned at him, "Sammy." He stood up and took the few steps towards his brother and brought him into a hug. Sam couldn't believe it, pulling back he left his hands resting on Deans shoulders, "Dude what happened?" Shaking his head Dean looked around, "I don't know, but I feel great. No blood lust, no hallucinations, its like the mark is" he lifted up his arm and realized the skin was clean. The mark was gone.
Both men stared at Deans arm, neither knew what happened and doubt started to creep its way into their minds. Dean looked up, "Sam, what did you do?" Sam just shook his head, "Nothing I swear, I've been researching and trying to find out how to get rid of it. I don't know what happened." Noticing something was missing Dean once again looked around, "Wheres Y/N?"
"She went to make a supply run, said she'd be back soon." Looking at his brother Sam realized how it sounded the moment he said it. "She wouldn't, Dean the mark can't be destroyed theres no way she could sell her soul." Nodding Dean agreed, but a gut feeling told him it wasn't that simple. Hearing the sound of someone running both men turned towards the door just as you appeared. The moment your eyes met Deans you smiled, running forward you launched yourself at him. He caught you easily and wrapped his arms around you, holding you against his body as tight as he could.
"Your okay, your really okay," you said, tears falling down your face. Pulling back you grinned up at Dean and laughed, "I'm so glad your better." Looking down at your face Dean couldn't help but let all the love he held for you bubble to the surface, "Y/N you know I'd never leave you." Hearing that made you blush and look away. Backing up a few steps you crossed your arms, the smile never leaving your face. Sam continued to stare at you, "Y/N what did you do?" Looking over at Sam your face fell, but only for a moment before you composed yourself and put on a fake grin. "I don't know what you mean Sam."
Dean caught your slip up and instantly knew something was wrong. He had that feeling again and followed his instinct. Stepping foward he grabbed your arm and began yanking up your sleeve, "Dean what are you..."
There it was, the truth staring them in the face. They both stared at your arm, not believing the red symbol was actually on your skin. Quickly pulling away you rolled your sleeve back down. Deans expression turned from shock to anger in seconds, "What did you do Y/N."
You couldn't meet his eyes, finally looking up you opened your mouth to speak.
"Time to go love."
Everyone turned towards the voice. Crowley stood smugly in the corner, waiting to collect his prize. You shot him a glare, "I told you to at least let me say goodbye dammit." He shrugged, "We have places to be darling, demons to punish." Dean just stood there, watching the exchange. Finally his eyes settled on you, slowly walking forward he stopped and brought both hands up to your face. "What was the deal," he asked, pain evident in his face.
Blinking away a few tears and closing your eyes you gripped both of his forearms, "Crowley transferred the mark to me, in exchange I have to work for him for awhile. I get to keep my soul and its only for a little while." Dean closed his eyes and laid his forehead against yours. "Why? Why the hell would you do this," he whispered. By now your heart was breaking and you felt it was time to come clean. "Dean I love you, and I couldn't stand seeing you in pain anymore. And Sam was suffering too, I had to do something."
He leaned back, opening his eyes and staring into yours. Opening his mouth to say something you stopped him, "I chose this, I can do this Dean. Killing demons for Crowley will keep the blood lust under control. You and Sam can continue looking for a way to get rid of it and before you know it i'll be home. Please just trust me, I can handle this. The world needs Dean Winchester, no one needs me." At that statement you saw Deans eye flicker with hurt, "I need you," he said.
"As much as this touches my tender places we really should be off. I am oh so keen to show off my new toy." Crowley walked forward until he was standing right behind you. "Although we do have one last tiny bit of business to attend to darling." Turning around you looked at him with confusion, "What do you mean?" Suddenly Sam and Dean were both pinned against the wall, they struggled against the force holding them down but it was no use. Your eyes widened seeing this and you turned back towards Crowley, "What the hell are you doing!?"
He smiled and pulled out a knife, "Just a little insurance sweetheart, don't want any interference for this next juicy bit." With that he plunged the knife into your chest, you heard Dean and Sam both scream your name. You fell to the ground, your eyes glazing over and the light fading from them. Crowley walked over and wiped his knife off on Deans comforter. Sliding the knife back into his coat he then made his way over to the night stand and picked up the first blade.
Deans eyes never left your body, a feeling of emptiness coursed through his veins, making his body go numb. Sam began crying and kept trying to break free. Crowley walked over to you and took one of your hands in his, laying the blade on your chest he then laid your hand on top of it. "Get away from her!" Sam shouted. Crowley looked up at the boys, "Now now, don't throw a fit Moose. I just needed to be sure Y/N here could do my bidding without any of that goody goody concious of hers getting in the way." At this Dean looked up, his eyes filled with a fury that scared even Crowley for a moment. "I will kill you for this Crowley." Suddenly you sat up with a gasp, Sam and Dean both looked surprised and relieved. "Y/N! Are you okay?" Sam said.
You stood up, your back to the boys. You lifted your hands and looked at the one holding the first blade. Turning around you smiled and batted your eyelashes, "I've never felt better." Sam and Dean could do nothing but stare at your now midnight black eyes. An evil smirk came across your face. Crowley walked towards you and offered his arm, "Shall we my dear?"
Taking his arm you shot one final look at the brothers, "Bye boys."
The moment you and Crowley vanished so did the force holding Sam and Dean. They dropped to the ground and immediately jumped back up. Sam brought both hands up to run them through his hair. "Dude, what the hell was that! He just turned her into a damn demon!"
"Actually the blade did that."
They both looked to see Cas standing in the doorway, Dean became angry and rushed towards him. Grabbing the front of his trenchcoat he yelled, "Where the hell were you! Why didn't you stop them!" Cas looked down in shame, "I was not aware of Y/Ns intentions. I felt her life end and came to see what happened. I am so sorry Dean." Dean released him and stepped back, his eyes showing moisture he refused to let fall. Sam took a few steps forward, "Cas what do you mean the blade turned her?"
Cas looked at Sam, "The mark of cain prevents the bearer from dying. When she died the blades power resurrected her. Unfortunately she is now a demon. She is not being possessed, she is simply an evil version of herself. She is now extremely dangerous and there will be no mercy or love shown. The Y/N you knew is gone." Dean turned his back and closed his eyes. Opening them again he quickly sent a right hook into the wall of his bedroom creating a large hole, "Son of a bitch!"
